I have several lillies resulting from one single bulb planted to yrs ago...I am in the northeast - zone 6? and would like to dig them up and separate, perhaps move them to a sunnier spot. Can I do this now, labor day weekend, or do I need to store them and wait till the spring to plant? I see on the web that some reccommend spring, some say it is ok to do it in early fall...
From pics I have seen on the web, they look like oriental lillies to me....
thanks so much!
when to separate and replant oriental lillies...
Fall is the preferred time I believe. I usually wait till the leaves turn, Once out of the ground it would serve you well to get them re-located and back in the ground as fast as possible. Lilies have a propensity to dry out swiftly.
