I am tired of not having

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

My measly little batch of AV are not blooming and don't look like they are going to any ways soon. I have a big big frown on my face. What to do what to do.

Gripe and moan and complain, just like I do. LOL Got any pictures of them?

They don't deserve to be photographed. I am about ready to throw them out and start over. The are kinda awful. I have never never had so much trouble with AV. I use to have constant blooming ones until I got some kind of bug or something. I really think I should throw them out and buy some new ones.

LOL I have some exactly like that!! I've repotted mine into the Texas method and have a few that are actually starting to look better and are either blooming or budding out. I did get to the point that once they started looking so bad, I threw them away. Over a hundred in one day. It was sad, but do you know how much work it would have been to bring them all back to full health? I think this awful heat wave we've had has affected some of our plants, even though they're indoors.

Oh, I'm glad I'm not the only one! My AV's were blooming so well and all looking so healthy before I went on vacation for a week back in May. Then I was gone again for 8 or 9 days to visit my sister. I think they are all mad at me for leaving them! Some of them did bite the dust and others are looking pretty pitiful. I can't really say it's the heat cause they are in the house with air conditioning ... the inside temp's are constant, no changes and I haven't changed the amount of time the lights are on. I have an old Gloxinia that I bought for 50 cents on Wal-Mart's clearance table a few years ago and she's blooming and looking so pretty. And, this morning when turning on the lights I happened to notice right next to the Glox is my Episcia fimbriata blue heaven and she is looking fabulous and has a bloom! This is a plant I got last year from Starfly/Eunice and boy has it grown! I am so excited cause it's the first time it's bloomed for me! I am loving it! But, the AV's just don't look very good. I don't have a clue what their problem is, but I sure wish they would "Snap out of it"!!

Mine were looking bad about 8 weeks ago and never did figure out what was wrong..........so (I know a lot of people don't like dong this......it is controversial) I had ordered a small container of Avid from (I can't remember but it was only 20 bucks and will last a life time).......................i sat down on the floor one day and sprayed 1/2 tsp. of avid to a gallon of water (which is a lot of spray so take it from there if you want to mix less).............

I put on thin gloves and sprayed each and every plant i had.........under the leaves, over the leaves and then let the lights stay off for 24 hours so they could dry well.................within a week they looked like new plants..........(the president of the Corpus Christi AV society told me to do this)......................now let me think where i could order such a small amount........she told me..............will have to go back and read her email.............

I think you said it was Cedar Creek violets, Gail.

thank you Rain.............you 'young ones' remember everything (LOL)....................best decision I have made in a long time just to give it once all.................i did not go back and repeat in 7 days which you are supposed to if you have cyclaman mites.........so I must have had something else.............maybe broad mites..............
