This is a David Liddle cutting and for the life of me I cannot get it to root. Have tried baggie and perlite. I really don't want to lose it...any suggestions?
macgillivrayi question
I don't know if this will work for you, but I use a rooting hormone and plant the cuttings directly into soil, then put in an an (almost) airtight container to maintain high humidity and set in a warm spot with bright light.
Thank you, I'll give it a try...never even occurred to me to use rooting hormone......I have lots of the stuff too.....
And if that doesn't work, I recently got advice here with a stubborn cutting (australis) to try rooting it in perlite in a small pot, watered with a little superthrive in the water, and also covered to create humidity. Had roots in less than 2 weeks, it has been transplanted into my regular growing mix, and I am beginning to see the start of new growth...
Good luck!
So glad to hear your australis 'Lisa' cutting made it Jen. I adore that plant also and was hoping you would get yours going OK. Wait till you see those first few new leaves..they are so cute with the pink and red new growth.

thanks Marcy, it is looking good in its little 2 inch pot of regular soil, and has put out more roots since I popped it out of the perlite and into the regular mix...I know because I dropped it two days ago. This poor little plant has been thru alot...but I have my fingers crossed...all the advice I got here really helped!
When I have one that is a real toughy, I find that a heat mat works wonders.
