Finally, I got perfect picture of the male red throated hummer! The male hummers don't stay still longer. I took hundred pictures and just two of them I got it perfect! I held my heavy camera with long len and stood still. It was during rain day. I was under back patio.

This was taken from inside of the house. That's what we have been watching hummingbirds everydays. So you can see what it look like for us to watch them daily.

Great pics Mini!!

My 2 feeders have a bully that won't let the others drink, he chases them off and sits like a king up in a tree to patrol.
How did you get yours to share? Mine need some behavior modification classes!

Thank you!
Each feeders have a bully.. but soon as many comes to the feeders the bully gave up! LOL..

Sad to say, one of male hummer got killed.. hit the window on other side of the house. I found one so far..

Sorry to hear about your deceased hummer. That is so sad. It is amazing even on a rainy day you get so many at your feeders. I think if I had your luck I would quit my job and just watch hummers all day long. Of course if possible I would quit my job and not watch hummers all day. LOL. Great pics, again.

Wonderful shots Mini.

Hi Mini,

I'm from New Iberia also and am very jealous of all those hummingbirds! We usually get 6 or 7 each year. I guess they can't find us for some reason. I live in a neighborhood off of Migues Road which is in the country so you'd think there would be more here.

Just wanted to pop in and say Hi.

WOW!!! Great shots. I would never get anything done around the house or anywhere else if I had that show to watch right outside my window. :-)

Awsome pictures! I hung a feeder about a week ago. Used sugar water as was instructed. Nothing yet. Am I better off buying the 'nectar' at the garden store & using that instead? I''m new to the world of hummer watching. Any advice would be appreciated...by me and by the hummers! Thanks :)

Oh, my! What a hummer circus you have going on there in LA!

Must be a busy summer and lots of nectar making ahead for you!
