Jack - Great shots! Is that Trumpet Creeper that they are nectaring from????

No hummers here, but I'm hoping to see some one day. Makes my heart stop to see such great shots of the elusive birdies! :-) I have a Trumpet Creeper growing in a large pot. I had planted it in my yard and then realized that might be a mistake in my zone, so dug that sucker up and put in a container/pot. Wouldn't ya know it .... the dang thing is still popping up shoots where I had it planted in the ground. I've dug them up 5 times and they still keep coming back from pieces of root that I didn't get! Arghhhhhhhhh!

Great pictures! I like the 2nd pix. Beautiful colors!

Am trying to grow a trumpet vine myself, but it is way short of the flower stage. I cannot wait though and it better be the hummer magnet everyone says it is. Of course in my yard ya never know.

Great shots and thanks for sharing those with us.

Nice ones Jack!
My neighbor has Trumpetvine, and I have a lot of other plants they like. Which are many. Salvia, Crocosmia, Cardinal flower (Lobelia), Cuphea, Flame Acanthus, Vitex, Zinnia, Nicotiana, Mexican Flame.. and Hibiscus, and few others.

Jack, Are they going for the Hyacinth Bean vine? Or did you have that this year? I tried to grow some, but it was a little p-yuney.

deb,
As far as I can ascertain they're pretty much ignoring the purple Hyacinth Bean vines; except for a foray or two noted at some Ipomopsis, the campsis seems to have their whole attention.
This year has been different from the past several summers as I've seen no humming bird moths whatsoever.
