Well, the rain did wonders for my babies. Lots of blooms today. First up, first time bloom for me:
Double Belle Du Jour.
Blooms for 09-02-07
Cat, all are quite beautiful, but that Hawaiian Salmon just takes the cake - both pictures are gorgeous!
Not too much for me today. Our temperatures have exceeded 110 every day for about a week and aren't supposed to break until Wednesday, then only to 96 or 97. I think my hibiscus are as unhappy with this heat as I am :-(
Only two of the blooms I have today are very pretty...First is Erin Rachael. Looking at the picture makes me see that my ordered bug blaster had better get here quickly!
Hey Karen,
I know what you mean about not real nice blooms. I have so many that are doing this. But soon when we cool down, we will have an abundant amount of perfect blooms. Did BlackJack ever finish the show?
Nope, just got more closed during the day. I'm actually that no more blooms open for a bit, so I can see the real full beauty when (if) it cools down a bit :-)
Cat and Crane, after looking at your beautiful blooms, I ran outside before I posted to see if maybe mine were looking any better, or if Moonshadow opened up. Nope, it's just gross outside, and even more buds have dropped off than this morning - it's so depressing!!!
Grrrrr, please let us have cooler weather, or at least a bit of rain or something for a relief - I can't take this heat...
I wonder if this little one on the right is the same as cat4gp's Hurricane Lily. It's a little fellow and just bloomed. I was surprised when I saw it cuz I only expected to see my regular Hibs
Robert, "all" my girls now have buds on them again :) I'm thinking that I may have blooms within the next few weeks.
All of the other babies you see on here, were sent to me in 2 gallon containers, so they are very woody and very established. Or, they are a year old by now, from when I bought them. I have lots of babies that probably won't bloom for another 4-6 months, but that's ok.
Karen,
Love your Lady. Months before I will see a bud from mine.
Anaid,
You can call me Cat. That's my name :) I just added the "gp" for the heck of it. It stands for "Garden Photography, lol.
Anyway, I bought my Hurrricane Lily at Home Depot or Lowe's. But, they are very bushy plants and yours doesn't look bushy, so I'm not sure. either way, it is lovely.
I love the Wild at Heart. I have nearly 0 blooming right now. Lots of buds coming. Great pictures, Cat.
Cat, your extensive collection of tropicals must be pure joy to check out each morning for new flowers. I would love to see your plants in person, but it's best that I cannot. :)
Tussee
Simply GAWGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, but, I am sure it is not nearly extensive as Kyle, Robert, Ardesia or Karen!
Whoa, you are ahead of me by miles. I love them and love learning about them but I only have about a dozen and a half and many of them are fairly common varieties. I gamble with the ones I have and leave them out all year; many are in the ground. One of these days we will move someplace where I can have a GH then watch out cat, I'll try and catch you then. :-))))
