I am trying to cover an 8' high lattice frame with a climbing vine, to help hide my shed in Vieques, PR. Gets some morning sun, but little direct light thereafter. I have the base drip-irrigated. Already trying some philodendron, some hoya, and some type of mandevilla, but they are not too eager to do the job --passiflora already failed.
Any ideas?
Any Good Climbing Vines for Semi-Shady Area?
Get a Passiflora incarnata or caerulea - they will cover anything in their path in a short time and produce lovely blooms!
Afraid the passiflora won't work , though I may try another.
The bleeding heart vine looks like it might work well.
Thansk very much!
Clerodendrons - Glory Bower (also called Bleeding heart) my favorite, or any of the others should do well in the environment you describe.
Hoyas should do well!!! but they wont 'cover' a latice work...but grow through it. Cleros ARE a great idea... Sygnonium is a pest but it will do the job...
climbing jasmine(either green or variegated) will do well.
