Guess what!! I had a hummingbird in my garden this morning!! I scared it away, but please tell me it will come back :( I was startled, I never thought I would see one.
I am so excited!! I hope it comes back!!
Hi dpoitras! Can't promise that one will come back but you should see some migrating through.
BooHoo, my main group of Hummingbirds seems to have left!
I hope I see more! I was wondering when they started migrating south...makes sense it would be around this time of year.
dpoitras,
It appears we are somewhat close to each other. I have not seen as many hummers at my feeders as I have. I think mine have started on their journey too. I bet you will see some migrating visiting your house.
Candy
Yes Candy we do live close to each other!!! About an hour away!! Not far at all.
The hummingbird came back this evening. I was sitting on my front porch and all of a sudden I hear a whir of bird wings and there it was and POOF it was gone!! I hope he/she remembers me when they come back in the spring!! Oh and sticks around my feeder before it heads to a warmer climate for the winter!!
Dpoitras - they are arriving here in good numbers on their way to Mexico and S. America. You all did a good job of hatching them up your way! Our part is to get them really fat before they head off :). They don't usually nest here - they pass through in the early spring and head up to see you, and then come back again in the fall.
Darn! My first one and gone already! How many more days till spring?? Ugh, Northeastern winter is on it's way :(
You might still see some migrators coming through,
I sure hope so! It was so exciting.
This past weekend I had 2 in the yard!! Next year I am planting more plants that they like. But not so many that I get them in my yard like that video :)
