Here is a shot from under the plant and I didn't have to duck to take the picture. She would require a ladder to pollinate these blooms.

Old faithful Maya hasn't been very faithful this year, but she isn't going to disappoint me when her flush is complete. She is loaded.

Congratulations! Wow, wow, all gorguous. I can pictue sitting under those blossoms reading a book, or just simply take in all that beauty in a quiet moment. Thanks for posting.

Hooray! Finally blooms for Shirley...and what tendrils on Sheer Bliss! So pleased they have started blooming for you and will watch this thread for the next set of pictures.

Wow.. that is so pretty! Sheer Bliss.. such a perfect name for such a stately brug bloom! Do tell about her fragrance.. sooo pretty!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks everyone. It sure was a long dry summer.

I actually don't pay close attention to the fragrance, but I could smell her 30 ft. away when sitting on the deck.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Wow, that Sheer Bliss is just beautiful!

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

They are beautiful Shirley. We are in a heat wave right now, so nothing is blooming although Chesa and New Orleans Lady and Margie's Delight have buds on them. I am sure hoping the heat hasn't dried them out too much.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Karen and Patricia. We are very lucky today. It's only 78 degrees and just a very light breeze.

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh .. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! Breathtaking!! I love that Maya!!!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

WOW> WOW> WOW> it sure looks good Brugie, I am happy for you that they are blooming, I dopubt very much if mine will this year it has been way too hot and dry, now we are told to conserve water, no washing cars, watering plants, or lawns.

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

Sheer bliss is very pretty, Shirley. Who are the parents? I tried to root two different cuttings of Maya last fall, but neither one made it.

Doris, I'm so sorry to hear that you now have to ration water. That's horrible!!! Have you at least had a break in the heat? When's the last time you had rain? Today, it is a gorgeous 84 degrees. Most definitely beats the 104 temps we've been having. Of course, it's been a while since we've seen rain down here. But, at least it's cooler!!!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Sheer Bliss is a beauty, Shirley. My brugs aren't blooming because I just haven't been able to get out and fertilize them all summer. We've had all kinds of rain, and it has been an unusually mild summer for us, so I'm sure if I'd been able to take care of them properly they would be blooming like crazy.

Brugie,

Your "Sheer Bliss" is awesome---love the color and form!!!

Thanks everyone. I like her color, her shape, and her size. Of course, I love long tendrils and she did well there too.

This cross was made by my friend, Renee. Out of a whole pod of seeds she shared with people, this is the only one that survived. I started with five seeds, three grew, and two of those died due to me forgetting to water. None of the others growing the seeds had any luck. The cross is Ecuador Pink x Rothkirch.

Hi Shirley its beautiful great pictures to.. lovely name to..

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Twyla. I thought the name was fitting.

Here is a picture of Sheer Bliss today. She has colored up a lot.

She certainly colored up nicely for you! I do really like those tendrils too.
Hmmm .... the sole survivor of that cross, wow that would make me nervous right there. :)

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

indiana, it has been a month since we have had a rain, the temp. has finnaly cooled down it was 80 yesterday and today has started out in the 70s but still no word of rain. North and East of the State got rain but it missed us again Rush Co. twenty miles to the North got plenty but Decatur Co. lucked out .

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Wow.. that is really really nice color! I love it. Perfect name too. I keep coming back to see her.. so theraputic to see such beauty in the midst of this heat wave.

Chickenville, FL(Zone 9a)

She did color up nicely. Gee, do any of Shirley's brug babies not have great tendrils?
I'm so jealous lol! Nice job.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Here is a new seedling that can't make up it's mind what color it's going to be. It was yellow all morning and now this color. I'm hoping by morning it will be purple. LOL! It has some nice tendrils, also.

great pictures and colors

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

Very nice Shirley! My buds fell off from our heat, so it's a great treat to see pictures of them looking good!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks all. Mary, I have so many that don't even have buds. It's sad, knowing that at the beginning of October, we will probably have our first frost. You will probably be having wonderful flushes at that time. I sure hope you have tons of blooms.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Shirley, you know what? I think I'd like to try and paint that pic of DayDreams! It is breath-taking! Inspiring.. :-)

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Shirley Sheer Bliss is a beautiful color, all your brug's are looking good, I am sure mine will not bloom this year since we are now restricted on watering, I have moved all my small plants into the house (where I can water) I am taking cuttings from the large plants to start over through the winter. I also have some new seedling from seeds I purchased from Seedsprout, they are crosses with Day Dreams so hopefully I will get some great looking plants next year.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh Doris, I'm sure sorry that Mother Nature chose to keep the rainfall out of your area. We were so lucky to get some rain a couple of weeks ago. I hope she still brings you rain. Your perennials will need a good drink before winter. I made two crosses with Day Dreams and both of them produced only deformed blooms. I hope you have better luck. I used Mtn. Magic and Susanne as pollinators.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Sooooo happy you got some beautiful brugs thats blooming now. Sheer bliss is just beautiful!!! Shirley . Well they all are.
