Here is a Palomar that had an inflo turn into two stems with leaves. One never knows... My Rainbow #17 is in the background.

wird inflo
Yes, weird, me too. It's a bummer when it is the only inflo that turns into a branch.
I have 1 that flowered waiting for it to branch and it kept going has grown another foot and half The inflo growing a seed pod but it never did branch
That's pretty wild!
Dana, sometimes a plumie will bloom and not branch! It is amazing! And sometimes, a tiny branch will appear there where the inflo first started months later.
Clare, what about a Plumie that never sets out leaves? This is my 2nd year with this particular one and it flowered last year without producing a single leaf. This year it looks like it's sending up 2 inflos and even last year's inflo appears to be semi coming back - - but still, not a single leaf.
Teresa, last year, was it a cutting? A plumie will not put out leaves until it starts to root usually. This year, it may just be late coming out of dormancy and is putting out inflo's first before putting out leaves. It will get leaves this year. It has to, or it won't be able to survive.
Teresa is it a cutting or a rooted plant I have one here from last year that was a cutting doing the same thing. It has 2 branches 2 inflos starting and it just stuck no leaves the inflos stay the same I hate to knock them off but proably will and graft it. Has no roots even thinking about it dipped it the good rooting hormone last year and this year. Clare will know this is just my experince
You know what? I can't (for the life of me) remember now if this one was a rooted cutting, or not. For some reason, I think that it was rooted. The lady that I got it from (ebay) said it was from old growth trees in Hawaii. I absolutely believe that because its stem is really thick.
I hope it sets leaves this year, as I don't want to lose it!
