and the last few days. We moved to this plave the first of May this year and the garden was nothing but weeds, herbs, weeds and more weeds. This is also the first year that I've been able to have my brugs in the ground and what an amazing difference it's made. My Frosty Pink Brug has quadrupled in size. It's just had one flush and getting ready for an even bigger one.
My garden this evening
window box of purple & burgandy petunias, outside our bedroom, along with the brugs and a jasmine bush about 3' round and 5' high. Always lovely scents in our room.
That's it for now. I know it's been a long time since I've posted, so I thought I better at least let you know that I'm still around.

Wow! You must have worked very hard to have such lovely gardens already Linda. Thanks for sharing :-)

Looking fantastic, Linda - when am I getting an invite ? Isn't it amazing how better the brugs do in the ground - except now I am eyeing them with a view to having to dig them up in the fall. (Did I say that "F" word ?)
Heather
*Gasp* Heather said the 'f' word! lol
Wow, Linda. Very nice pics and thanks for posting. Your brugs get to 9' high? That's amazing! I see your pooch likes to drink in your pond too. I don't think I've considered taking pics at dusk. It's a very nice time. Kinda quiet and restful and I get that sense from your pics.
Sandy
Great looking brugs. Are they generally night bloomers? (Can you tell I don't really know anything about them? Probably won't as long as I live in an area where they would have to have special winter care.) Looks like you've made an amazing difference to your gardens since you've been there.
You have a real garden now. Yippee for you both.
How much sun??? Sunny area?
Quiet area - I did love your old area before you moved. No more dramas from upstairs folks?
Camping this summer?
So glad you are posting again.
Ginny
Thanks everyone for the nice replies.
Heather, you know you and DH can come by anytime, our ph # is the same. We dont get past your place as often, but I'm sure it's wonderful!!
Sandy, taking the photos at dusk was something new for me. I wanted to capture the flowers, the greenery and the solar lights. We've got about 28 solar lights along the paths and around the pond. It really is nice in the evening with all the lights and the sound of the fountain.
ViolaAnn, thanks, the garden really has been transforned since we moved in, from flat weeds to a brug forest! Even here I have to bring in the brugs in the (shhhh) fall. They don't tolerate frost at all. I'll be looking for some strong person to come along and lift them all out and back into pots for the winter. This is the first yeat that I've had them in the ground, and it's the first year they've grown to tall. They usually open in the evening, stay open about 4 days then the flower will wilt and fall off. The scent is stongest in the evening, and some flowers will droop in the heat of the day but spring back in the cooler evening.
Inanda, we're now in Strawberry vale area with a major road going along the back fence. We get morning and late afternoon sun, mostly filtered by the huge willow tree. I imagine we'll get more sun in the winter, when the leaves drop, and we are facing south. Dramas upstairs, seems to never stop.... but we're told there are some changes coming in the next week. We can only hope. Our summer holidays were spent on Denman Island, with you and the crowd doing the DI Garden Tour. Except for the rain it was a grand few days. We've got nothing else planned. Will be making a trip to London Ont for a couple of days at UWO in October. Hopefully a new brain will have a new idea of how to treat me &/or newly or rediagnose me. and so it goes, another day in the life of......
We're getting a good rain now.
Tomorrow we're off to the 140th annual Saanich fall fair.
Linda! It's so nice to see your garden pictures! You've done a LOT of work since moving to your new place in the spring.
It looks like you've created a magical wonderland! Wonderful job! ;-)
As a person who has many datura in bloom now (I love them and always grow them as annuals, though their tiny one foot stature seems funny next to your astounding photos)-- what will you do with them for the winter?
Theresa
Wow Linda. It looks like you've done a lot of hard work. Lovely garden. You must have some more photos you could show us?
Brenda
Now you hae space for lilies........ So glad tht you have a decent garden now. Brugs under deck for winter????
