Fragrant white kokio hibiscus

these guys survived the freeze last spring (barely) took all summer to regrow to blooming size.Has a faint citrus scent, last one day and bloom in large clusters at the tips of the stems.This is a wild species form from the hills of Hawaii.

Ardesia, I got this as a trade with another plant collector.This is the true species form.Years ago there was a hybrid that looked similar but the petals were larger and fuller.. Sold as a garden type but they kept failing to live much past4 yearsat most so it disappeared.. I think Kartuz nursery in Vista Ca. still carries the hybrid form.
