my white bantams are muddy, can i bathe them? if so, what should i use? i'm a dog groomer so bathings my thing, but i've never bathed a chicken. is there a right way? what is conditioner? should i be using it? how do i use it? lot's of questions.

Well, the way that chickens bathe themselves is with dirt. So the dirt isn't hurting them. They'll just get dirty again, so I wouldn't bother unless there is a special reason you want them looking clean.
Basically, just wait for a warm sunny day and use warm water. We used flea shampoo one time and regular old shampoo another time. Watch out for their eyes. You can also blow dry them. Silkies really like this. THe rest are so fussy.
The best part is how little they are under all those feathers!
