I posted an ad in our Georgia Market Bulletin , I wanted to trade a couple of my Japanese Bantams for White Palm Turkeys. I got a message from a wonderful couple that had to many Male White Palms, so the trade was on! Yaaaaay!
Here he is! His name is Puff Daddy! Sooooo pretty, ('er Scuse me) Handsome! I'm so Haaaaaaaaappeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
My New walking partner!
I have a very early morning job, so when I get home I like to walk and check out all my babies, the bantams , Domineques, Sussex,Leghorns, and on and on and.....!!! Too many to count any longer. Thats why I decided to thin my family. I needed to get a little more reasonable with my breeds and the space for them! So I really wanted a pair of White palms. Now I have to find a Hen!
For now though I have "Puff"! He's so friendly! He's only been here since Saturday and he already has made himself at home! He has decided tht whereever I go , He goes too! So when I do my excersize walking and farm tour he follows just like my two Chihuahuas! He is either a real People person or he thinks he has a new pet! Haaaah!
Puff IS beautiful, Eufaula! I see why you wanted one! Please post a picture of him with his tail feathers fanned out when you get a chance. ....When he's strutting his stuff!
PS: Are male turkeys mean like roosters??? Do you have to worry about them attacking people? ...Always wondered about that.
:) Glenda

THAT'S AWESOME!!! I bet that made your day! He's absolutely beautiful Eufaula! You'll enjoy having him run around your place.
He's as pretty as a peacock.... (Is that an insult or compliment to a turkey???) lol
Thank you! I'm so proud of him! You know we all have to be some pretty unique people! We just cant seem to make other people understand our love of our Poultry families, but WE all understand each other and our silly loves!!! :o) , Aint it grand!LOL!!!
Isn't that the truth!
He is soooo handsome. Must be so neat to wander into your yard and have such an amazing creature be with you. I never tire of the splendor and uniqueness of these beauties.
**FOR ALL TURKEY LOVERS OUT THERE**
the book: Illumination in the Flatwoods: A Season with the Wild Turkey by joe hutto is a must read! its not as boring as it sounds i promise.
Joe Hutto, a wildlife artist from Florida, was given the rare opportunity to raise wild turkeys from chicks. A few wild turkey eggs had been exposed by a tractor mowing over their nest and he took on the task, which eventually turned into a full-time job, of raising more than 20 turkey chicks.
this book is written as a journal and will make you laugh and cry...
this book is out of print so some copies are a bit more expensive but i did see some on
