When I got it last year it was in a small pot and it was rootbound. I jumped it to a nice pot but it is a bit big. Afraid to move it to something smaller.

Nice pics, Flutter. I agree with Dete that you can use more of that pot by turning it upside down and removing the plumeria, adding potting soil, and repotting it back into the same container. You will want to remove that catch tray though for sure because that encourages wet soil, root rot, and ultimate death of a plumeria. That is certainly a nice big inflo that you had there.

Okay Clare..do what now LOL. YOu want me to take the plant out and whatever roots are sticking to it, get rid of the old soil and replace it with fresh potting soil but fill up the pot more?. Is that what you are saying? Sorry, it is late and I can't have anymore soda LOL

I just put the catch tray there for the picture because I watered it outside and wanted to slide it back onto the patio. it slides better on the tray. I removed it after the picture was taken

LOL! Just carefully take the plant out with its root ball attached. Turning the container upside down while holding the rootball back with your hand will bring the plant out of the container. This should be done when the rootball is on the dry side and not wet. The soil that is within the root ball should not be disturbed. Then add a few inches of fresh potting soil to the container and place the plant back in the container. Add soil, if needed, to fill in the gaps between the rootball and the container. The top of the root ball should be within an inch of the rim of the pot.

Gotcha. Thanks

Okay, the plumie is all moved now.

Okay, now here is another one. I read the thread about straightening a plumie. Should I do this? The is a Mary Moragne...think it was a rooted cutting because seedlings don't grow wierd like that do they?

Lets move it so it has a white background so you can see it clearer

i'd leave it alone. looks good!

It actually does look like a seedling. Seedlings can branch like that without flowering unlike cuttings, which will only branch naturally when they flower. I would definitely straighten it if it were mine. I'd get a bamboo stake and stick it straight down against the base and use stretchy ties to tie it to the stake until it is perfectly straight. It a few weeks, it will be straight on its own and no stake will be needed. I would do this with the leader only and not the other branches.

Thanks gang!
