Hmmm .... seems the bees have been busy with Lady Margaret

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

I found two tiny fruits on Lady Margaret this morning, and I had nothing to do with it. :)
I do have some questions, if anyone can help out.
First, are LMs self-sterile? If that's the case, the "daddy" can only be Vitafolia. Also, are the fruits edible?
I've seen where people have been lucky with viable seeds -- if there are any seeds to be had. And, about how long does it take for the fruit to ripen?
Thanks in advance for your help!!

I know how excited you are! I was tickled when my Lady M started "fruiting". I've never tried to eat any of the fruit. I don't know if anyone else has. I love the scent though with a lime base (at least to me it does).
When the fruit falls off the vine just set it and let it turn brown. Then open and get the seeds. It takes about 3-4 months here. I don't know about your area though.
Phicks (Paul) has been succesful growing Lady M from seed. I keep trying! Good Luck and keep us updated!

There are many more people that are more qualified to answer your questions. I'm just a novice.

This is my latest booty.

I've seen your monsterous Lady Margaret, and you still call yourself a novice? LOL!! I love your Lady Margaret, by the way.

I'll have to pay attention to the smell of it, and will try to germinate the seeds once they ripen. So far I have 3. And the bumble bees could easily stay on the blooms all day.

Thanks for responding!

Flutter - I sure have! It would be nice to have our own forum.

Thank you! Lady M pretty much does her own thing until she gets out of control! I hope someone else sees this thread and can offer more help to you.
