I washed the chickens for the fair and somehow they came out all kinds of weird colors
It happened AGAIN
LOL And you call me funny???
I have to ask because I do not remember, are these for display or do you actually enter them?
Our silkies are still unicolor......LOL
Incase anyone was wondering where I was I had to wash and groom 65 chickens and get them to the New York State Fair
Yes I dyed some too
Final Judging was today and I did pretty good
Champion (White polish bantam pullet )and reserve (Buff polish hen)AOCCL
Champion and reserve Continental(both WCB polish)
and the WCB cock bird was reserve champion Large fowl
so out of all the large fowl at the fair(400-500) mine was the second best bird
also 1st place out of 6 on my bantam white breeders pen
and 2nd out of 6 of the large fowl Sumatra breeders pen
Your birds are beautiful! I really think we are going to need to get a couple of those!
I can't believe you did that to the judges. LOL Are they stiff and boring or did they at least get a laugh out of it?
Congrats on the wins!
The judge just looked at the clerk and said
OK
what do I do with THAT??
LOL Oh well, maybe it kept it interesting anyway. ;)
Even though my entire day was horrible...I just finished wipingh the tears out of my eyes after laughing until I fell over! I LOVE these pictures!
I am going to the white chickens up for Easter! You have got to be one crafty lady! They look TERRIFIC!!!!!! Do you show silkies?
mcamden I seriously hope you don't have another badger or else I am coming to visit!! What the waiting period in your neck of the woods?
Lora
OH MY!! I just love how you dye the birds, CC. What great color combos. How long does the dye job last? I would have to keep coloring mine if I had any. They must be so cheerful looking running around the yard.
I just do not know where you have time to take care of all your animals and work so hard. You are an inspiration.
Congratulations on all your wins. You really deserve every single one. I think you should have gotten best in show too! Though #2 is pretty impressive for sure.
LOL Mel. It is really standing staight up! And what a cute toe you have!
Why is it only when you hit send that you see your typos?

and Jeane,Mel and Kell
thanks for visiting me here!!!!!
Oh CC, you know your fan club will visit you anywhere and everywhere. Especially when we get to see your so cool birds.
CC,
As usual, your birds are incredible!!! BIG congratulations on the wins!!
I don't know HOW you dye a chicken, but they look outstanding!!! ....My grandkids would LOVE them!!! ~;>
I just let my "new" chickens outside for the first time today and they included my very first pair of White Crested Black Polish! Very cool chickens! Mine have more black in the (front of the "poof") on their heads than yours (I'm suspecting that they have to be all white in order to show them) but I'm really enjoying them. I get the greatest reactions from folks who see them for the first time. lol And now that I see your rooster and hens, I know I have a pair - which is what I was hoping for!! Yahooo!
......I'll post a picture first chance I get and have you take a look at them. :)

You know we are your biggest fans, CC! We will follow you anywhere you go! After all, your chickens were on the cover of Vouge and you deserve your own groupies!
Kell, yep my toepo was showing. I wish I could tell you what I was thinking when I took that shot! I imagine they were facing me and I must have spaced out. Naturally I took that shot before my pedicure!
Hey Lora...I tried replying yesterday...but it wouldnt let me! Maybe I had hit my limit. No more badgers. In fact...we havent had a single predator since that night! I just wish my hens would cooperate and sit on those eggs! We have 14 of them now! Any advice on how to get one of the hens to start sitting? I think the problem is that they free range and no one wants to stay behind in the coop.

Are there any Americana or Auracana breeders in southeast MI??
Need just one laying hen with blue-blue/green egg as ours is too old now to lay.
