Hi, I know you are the brain bank, so please pour some stuff into mine.
I live in zone 8(East Texas) and have beautiful caladium, but what do I do in the fall. CAN I just leave them where they are and have them come up next year, or do I need to take them out and bring them inside.
If I need to bring them in, what is the process.
Thanks
Need help with caladiums

Teas is a nursery in Houston area but info. provided will apply to you in east tx. I don't save mine because I'm lazy and due to my lazyness I lose about 2/3 of the bulbs, not to the cold but to the spring rains. In the perfect world I should dig them up when soil temps go to 60 deg. and plant them around May, when soil temps are in the 70s.
If you don't dig yours up, you will likely lose them all and have to buy some more next year. Are you in planting zone 8? Wonder why it doesn't show in your box. You will notice mine shows my town and planting zone. That helps other readers a lot when making comments about what you should/should not do.
hope this helps.
I've just been a member here for a couple months. How do I get my zone by my name. I never noticed it before..
Hi Lorraine,
I'm pretty sure we in Gilmer, TX are in zone 8b according to all of the zone finders I have used with our zip code.
Laura
