I have found this wonderful place, Dave's Garden, and would like to join in. I don't want to break any written or unwritten rules for this type of trading, but I will explain where I am at.
I have had an herb nursery for the past 5 years, and have collected quite a variety of plants. I am now in the process of selling my property and having a personal crisis on many levels. At this time I do not need plants, but I have many gardens of herbs to dig up, as the buyers of my property are not interested. I plan on selling some locally this fall, and would not be so crase as to suggest money as trading material, but would it be possible to trade in other things? I won't follow this line of thought, if this would be poor etiquette.
going out of plant business
Herb... mayhaps you could post what you have available? Then individually we could decide what is fair and appropriate.
I have a great many things, but have a tough time making a list. I do have a website made a few years ago that will give you an idea. I have many others now. here is my website
www.herbincenter.com
I have traded overseas seeds and or plants and sent nice stationary etc in place of a return of seeds or plants. Would you like to do this.
Herbin, I don't know if this site--davesgarden.com--- has any restrictions on what may be traded for plants, but I personally don't see why you couldn't trade your plants for anything people have to offer. As long as both traders are pleased with what they recieve---let the trading begin! I'd love to view your plant list, and some suggestions as to what you might be interested in recieving in trade. E-mail me privately!

Herb,
Please email me. I would love to arrange something with you.
Thanks,

You've got mail, and a whole lot of prayers.

I have no room, time or energy to adopt any of your plant-friends; however, I would like to send positive vibes to you and wish you courage, strength and blessings during your crisis. Perhaps you will be lucky and some day look back at this time and appreciate how much character you gained by surviving this time.

Thanks to everyone for their wonderful thoughts. I will get on those emails tonight. Sometimes life is just a b***h, and I realize everyone goes thru it, and so will I. Hoping to join in the chat this Thursday. Am working on a list to put on my page. Gardeners are just good people, and one of the joys of gardening is sharing something we love with others.
Dear Herbin, I personally have traded homemade miniblind plantmarkers, straw hat and gardenhose wreaths, gardening books and magazines, windchimes, birdhouses, birdfeeders, luffa-gourd sponges, homemade soaps, and flowerprinted fabrics. I have 'seen' birdhouse gourds and shells and embroidered sweatshirts and homemade candles traded here also, most of the items have been "garden" related, I have never seen any restrictions on trade items within reason. We here at DG are an imaginative and caring group. I also would like to lend my support to you at this time of personal crisis, and hope to remind you that Angels are watching over you. I will email you direct for trades.
you are in my prayers.
i have sent you an email
Have put a trade list on my main page, as I didn't want to go thru the entry process in the trade page. This is one reason I don't have a catalog or permanent list. Can't ever seem to get it right! Will put up some seeds and tender stuff later. Thanks to all.
I am interested in many of your plants(10). Could you give me some ideas to want you would like to trade?
Penny

~Dusty~
Hi--I'd be interested in the yellow flowered comfrey for shade, plus hostas. Figure you don't want any more plants--but I could send a big pan of really good chocolate brownies. Please e-mail if interested. Franny
Thanks to all for asking about the plants. Lacking organizational skills, and having made a few other promises first, I will for sure be emailing you all soon.
Hey Herbin! I would be interested in scented geraniums if you still have any. Any kind would be GREAT! I'm a rockhound and a jeweler so if you have a fave rock or want some crystals in trade...I'm your gal!
Thanks to all again, and yes, I will try to get with all of you interested and see what we can work out. Please be patient with me.
Diana
