Beautiful Salt Marsh Moth.

Hello Everybody, about two months ago I found this caterpilar.

It soon molted and grew into this.

Then made a cocoon like this.

Yesterday it finally eclosed and this is what we had.

Unfortunately we were not able to get a good picture with the wings open because as soon as it started to move it wouldn't stop fluttering, but here she is in motion.

What a cool moth there Frostweed. A real beauty. Went to the link you had and I have signed up for that site but have no clue how to navigate it. Any quick clues?

Oh thank you we were quite thrilled to see it .
Leslie that site is really different, to navigate it you click on the insect you want to see on the left on the left hand panel and it will show you what you want to see. You click on the insect every time you want a new page. I hope that helps.

Leslie~ That site can be a little challenging, but it does have a lot of pics and info. If you get a login you can select how to search for things. ie. common or scientific names, etc.
The more general you are, the more pics will show up to look through.
