Hi there, I haven't posted very much but last time I tried to post a photograph....nothing. So here is a peony I admired at a friends house back in early summer, sigh. Where does the time go?
Seeing if I can post a picture on this thang...
Beautiful!!!!!
castlegar - you DID it. I hope we see more. Those new yellow peonies are enough to make me think I need to find space for more. It's lovely.
Castlegar, How is the smoke right now and how did the fires affect your gardens?! I was just teaching at a music camp in Silverton and New Denver.

Hi, all. First thanks for the kind comments. The peony is from Dutch Girl near Nelson.
Regarding smoke. It was very smoky at the time the Pend D'Orielle Fire was blowing from the south, but lately its not been very bad at all. Thats only because we are upwind of several large fires. We are right across from the airport, and we hear the bombers and spotters and helicopters all day, although this morning was quiet. Its been very active. I sometimes hear them circling for a long time, then landing at night (this is a VFR airport, for the most part, although we do get commercial flights and there is a tower), its really a tricky approach.
Here is another one....
Another lovely. I think I know what I'll grow if anything happens to me trees so that I can't grow Hostas everywhere.
Beautiful pictures of beautiful peonies, Castlegar_rock. No learning curve there, perfect from the beginning. I will second ViolaAnn, I would like to see more of your pictures too.

No, no, kat, you must limit it to a thousand, please. lol (nice!!)
What are your favs?

This is actually not my shot, its my husbands, but I guess the lilies are the most photogenic. I have only started seriously in the past 2 years. Before that I photographed plants for work (am a biologist). I like to photograph ANYTHING actually, lol. Including old buildings, landscapes, I have shack series I am working on... I will post a few more here, but this is a strawflower with a little white spider
