massive numbers of fruit flies on peaches on tree... help

We've had tons of little flies around this year. They're kinda like gnats and kinda like fruit flies. I'll get a picture of whats going on tomorrow. Anyone else had this problem. And, what the heck do I do!

Make sure you pick the fruit as soon as it is ripe. Clean up fallen fruit from around the tree, that will attract flies and once they find a nice spot they will make it their home!
