The Corryocactus is the slender one on the left under corner, not the larger one that occupies almost all of the photo.

Hi Peter. Did you join Dave's Garden just to tell me? How nice of you! Well, you could be right, it sure is hard finding a photo of this one. But the description I found matches the one you mention that is off to the side. I am going back to Berkeley Botanical this next week and will definitely look at this one and the next to it.

Now that have joined DG, I hope you stay. We have a lot of fun here!

The primary plant in the picture (and the one pictured in the other photos posted here under "Corryocactus pulquinensis") seems to be Oreocereus varicolor.

I wonder if I ever got back there Jan, 2011. Usually with me it is out of sight, out of mind. I just went back and considering my photos are presently split between 2 computers and about 8 hard drives, it is a miracle I found these photos. I was hoping for more pictures of the one pieter_cactus calls Corryocactus pulquinensis but just found a small one.

I did find a similar looking plant on Google to the cactus on the left being Corryocactus pulquinensis but the photos I saw of Oreocereus varicolor seem to be different to the central cactus, but what do I know?

Let me ask Xeno to come and look. I just go by the signs at the garden.

Does this one look more like Corryocactus pulquinensis?

I agree the last image you posted (the plant on the left in the original photo) is C. pulquinensis.
Corryocactus flowers are completely different from Oreocereus, and the flowers you posted look to be Oreocereus flowers.

I agree with Minime8484. The cactus in the third photo is the same one that is on the left hand side of the first photo, which is C. pulquinensis.

The cactus that takes up most of the picture in the first photo is Oreocereus varicolor:

See how smart you are Minime! Thanks Xeno!

Hehe...just the result of wading through the maze that is South American columnars! Corryocactus is a goal of mine to add to my collection (only have one species so far), so have been doing a lot of research.
So, that means, the two remaining photos still listed under Corryocactus pulquinensis should be moved to Oreocereus varicolor's entry.
And, the isolated picture of the Corryocactus can be moved to the C. pulquinensis entry.

Did they only move 1 over? I will ask again. The other I have to submit.

I am still trying to get the other 2 moved, seems like it is a hard thing to do.
