Has anybody ordered from them? i've emailed them twice now asking how large their begonias are that they ship and no reply yet. I'd like to place an order, but there isno phonenumber ontheir site and no one's at home.......

I placed an order in early June - decent, well rooted plants for the price. POOR communication though. I don't recall that I ever got a reply after two inquiries. But did get my plants.

I left a message asking her about the size of her begonias that she ships, and I mentioned that I sent her a few emails with no reply that I wanted to know this before I placed an order since I had never ordered before.
I don't know if she'llanswer ornot, but I'm going to take the chance and place an order, because her prices aren't bad.
I just went out and looked at the plants they sent. (had to look up the invoice to recall what it was I ordered) If memory serves me right, they were in 3" pots and the plants were pretty good size - and they are even larger now. Better than Logees or Kartuz but qual to those from Accents For Home & Garden (can't recall their eBay name) . Except they are not good at communication. I wanted to know when they were going to ship and after two emails, I gave up. Seems to me it took about 3 weeks or longer to ship. But I may be off on the timing.
I didn't like the way they process payment either. It's via paypal, but even though I have a paypal account, it ran through differently via my credit card. It was weird to try and figure out. In the end, I did get nice plants but would grade them a D- on communication.
Communication is everything on a web site, they should know better LOL
I just placedmy order and paid through paypal looks like it will come out of my checking account. It didn't give me the option of changing payment options either.
we'll see, web site said 2 to 3 weeks for delivery. hope they are as nice as yours. then all will be well.

They send very nice plants. You will get notified when they actually ship. I think for the most part they are totally automated and don't have a whole lot of human interaction. But I like the quality and size of thier plants. They are also well packed. So you will be happy with what you get.
I never buy from Logee's...plants (they are more like plugs) are way too small for the money they want.

Thanks Daisy, I appreciate that, Since Lali mentioned that same thing on the size and quality of plants, I went ahead and ordered some. I'm gonna be in begonia heaven real soon LOL . What with all the ones I got from you and the ones I got coming from you and these, gosh. LOL

I have never ordered from Taylor Greenhouses but I may try them in the future.
In defense of Logee's, the plants seemed quite large despite the small pots (bigger than Kartuz for example). Their prices are higher than a lot of their competition but then they offer some plants that others don't have so it depends on what you want and where you can get it. The last order I placed with them was delivered the same week (ordered mid-week and the box came in on a Saturday). That was the big shocker.
WEll, I just received an email from taylors greenhouse. They appologized for the lack of response, she jsut received them she said,
her begonias are in 2.5 containers and anywhere from 6 to l2 inches tall. She's goin g to haveabout l0 more listed in a short time onher web site, so i'll have to watch her site.
It was good to hear from them, I feel better about my order now, and she did mention that she'll ship them on the 27th
next monday, so that's great news too.
Kathy, thanks for starting this thread. I was unaware that this vendor existed. Here I was sweating bullets trying to find B. 'Little Miss Mummey' and lo and behold, they have it!! And, the best part is, they maintain that their plants are pest-free!!!! I ordered one from Kartuz earlier this summer and it was infested with mealy bugs. It was the only one of the 4 begonias I ordered from them that was infested with this pest. Can you believe it? I was so disappointed because this one had been at the top of my begonia wish-list for quite some time. Anyway, thanks again. Let us know when your order arrives!!!

Well I decided to take the plunge and go ahead and order from them. I placed the order last Friday and it arrived in the mail today! Boy that was fast! I ordered three plants, you have to meet a minimum order to buy from them, and I am very happy with the results. I ordered two palmate tyes. One was Carolinafolia, the other is Thelemei (sp?) and I also ordered Erythrophyla. You know the Beefsteak variety. They were in 2.5 in pots and packed nicely. Thelemei lost all but two of its leaves but the Rhizome looks healthy enough. The other two were in great shape. I am especially excited about the Erythophyla. It has about twenty leaves on it. From this experience I would highly recommend them and I will be checking the website for any new arrivals.
Well, you did good, she was suppose to ship mine on the 27th and I haven't gotten them yet, but it's still early. I had already forgotten that I had placed the order. So glad this thread reminded me LOL

I gotmy order I forgot to post, everything looked great, and I did get a confirmation email when the plants went out, but Do not look for any other email from this company, they Have bad communication skills.
Makes it difficult to have great returning customers, but they will come through and ship your products and ship them well packed. For some that's enough.
Yeah.... feel free to ignore me just send me good plants on time. : )
I'm pretty sure their alot bigger than logees too.
