Smelly sandals?

We discussed this before but forgot where. My DH has a pair of $65 sandals he can not wear but w/ socks because his feet will stink. He bathes daily, really! Maybe spray his feet / deodorent prior to putting them on? They look like a cork lining where his feet touch; definitely not plastic. Help.
