I've visited Dave's Garden many times and finally subscribed. Absolutely love my subscription. I would garden 24 7 if I could, especially with perennials. Getting interested again in houseplants - especially African Violets after visiting the forum here. I have my obsessions - like cone flowers. I want to have every variety out there but only have a few. I also have a little plot of land in Kentucky that I bought hoping to extend the garden season. But gardening in Kentucky is a whole lot different than Chicago so I'm hoping I can get a lot of help.
Thanks.
Hi from Chicago
Welcome, Roserairie. I'm happy to see a fellow Chicagoan here on DG. It sounds like you already know your way around the forums. I've found that they can be quite addictive. Unfortunately, I spend more time here than I do tending to my gardens. ;-)
By the way, have you checked out this thread? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/725083/ You're not the only one who's "cone crazy".
Have fun. See ya around the forums.
Sharon
Thanks Sharon - I'll check that out!
Roserairie, welcome from the South! Our gardening zones may be a wee bit different, but our friendship is the same. Martha
Roseairie,
Welcome to Dave's Garden. It is an amazing site and I am so glad that I subscribed 3 years ago. I wish I had known about it sooner. Once again welcome and BTW I love your name.
a belated welcome from upstate new york. this is a great place to be. hope you get to try the other forums.
Hello welcome sorry so slow to greet you.. yes chicago will be different then kentucky..
Hello from across the border! I'm a writer from Indiana, and am new here, as well.
I could throw a rock and hit the Illinois border from where I sit. :-) (well... give or take five miles)
I don't have a lot of gardening experience, but we can at least commiserate about the weather. :-)
Hi! I'm also new and in Chicago. :)
Hi, Lacewing and Herbivore, welcome to Dave's Garden. (Sorry I'm late with my welcome, Lacewing). It's always good to see neighbors. I hope to see both of you in some of the forums. They're not all just about gardening.
Beginners are very welcome here. Dave's Garden is the perfect place to ask questions. No matter how small or foolish you feel a question is, chances are there is someone else who has the same question. And if you think you know the answer to a question, jump right in. Don't be afraid of being wrong. I made a mistake on a flower i.d. and it was no big deal.
See ya, Sharon
