The Cheapest Way To Send Seeds

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

I have succesfully without damage sent seeds using a plain white small envelope and bubble wrap with a 58 cent stamp on it. To get this rate, the envelope with contents cannot weigh more than an ounce.

Unless you are sending bulky seeds like canna .. this is the cheapest and easiest way to go. I use 3/16th bubble wrap and the number 6 3/4 envelopes I cut the bubble wrap to the height of the seed packet and long enough to totally wrap around it.

I have sent up to 4 packets of seeds for 58 cents. You are wasting money by using bubble envelopes for non bulky seeds.

Out of the hundreds of envelopes I have sent this way over the last few years, not once has a packet ever arrived with squashed seeds.

I just sent 1/4 cup of rudbeckia seeds wrapped in bubble wrap in a regular size envelope to pamsue and she said they got there in good shape. pamsue had a 42 cent stamp and a 17 cent stamp on it as I recall.

hi sherry
yes it was 2 rectangular pieces of recycled bubble envelope cut to size a bit smaller than the regular envelope and the seeds were slipped in between the bubble envelope pieces in the reg. envelope
the postage was 41 cents plus 17 additional . making it .58 cents total

Thanks for reminding me. I started by wrapping it in bubble wrap and then thought that made it too bulky and used the sheets that you sent instead. I'd forgotten that already. Old brain.......
