experiences with McClure and Zimmerman

Lansdale, PA(Zone 6b)

I have been thinking of using their fall catalog for the first time. It was fun being inspired by words than finding images on-line. How have your experiences been with them?

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

here's their entry in the garden watchdog. OK feedback, but I decided they were many bulb companies with better rating so I did not see the point in even taken a teenie tiny risk. Competition out there is fierce, so buying from top sellers seems like a no-brainer choice.

But I have been known to by from less than perfect sources who might have something I absolutely, positively have to have, lol

if you do buy from them, i hope you will share your experience via the watchdog.

I have ordered from them several times and have an order in now for some double pink tulips. Haven't had a problem yet; my orders are always small, no more than $40 usually. They do carry some unusuals. I ordered some Lilium nepalense (hard to find) last spring but apparently they couldn't get them and they automatically sent me a refund check without me begging for it.

When they get my order, they send me a postcard confirmation with an order number on it. I consider them OK for small bulb orders, if you need a lot of bulbs one of the bigger firms might be better. Oh, I almost forgot: I do like that their shipping is very reasonable. Most companies soak us west coasters with a 20% shipping fee (Scheepers/VE, for example) but M-Z is $6 up to $60 and 10% after that. Also, I always order early for the 10% discount. Cut off date was June 30 for the current fall catalog.

Divernon, IL(Zone 5b)

I've ordered from them occasionally over the years and haven't encountered any problems.

Dandridge, TN(Zone 6a)

I've used them and never had any problems.
