I've been noticing that some of my plants are starting to get yellow leaves and dropping off. Not like my Imperialis, I think I have that one figured out. They are all near eachother. My Pubicalyx 'Red Buttons', Camphorifolia, Globulosa, and Fungii in particular. They're getting brown spots that form on the underside of the leaves. Then they eventually get bright yellow and fall off. I haven't had to deal with this sort of problem before. My plants have all been very healthy up until this summer. I'm not sure if it's the extreme heat or what. Is this some sort of fungus? Is there some kind of home remedy that I can mix up here at home and spray on the plants? I've read that Tinactin foot spray can be used, cinnamon and baking soda also. Will anything stop this from spreading and will I be able to save the leaves that are already infected? Can anyone recommend something they have used and has anyone ever experienced this particular situation? Do I soak the entire plant? Or just the soil? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Here is a picture of a Globulosa leaf.
TIA!
Jen
Ok, I need help again :(
Oh Jen, I don't think that I have seen that before. One of mine does have a virus or something though, and is getting tiny brown dots, but they are raised, like braille, and they are more red, and the size of pin pricks. But there is no yellowing, or dropping, so I am not sure what to tell you.
Good luck, I bet someone who knows more than me (that could be just about anyone on the forum), will pop in and be helpful.
Hugs,
S
There is a recent thread about fungi on leaves you might want to reference.
That H. camphorifolia leaf looks as if it is being nibbled on... The globulosa leaf could have been nibbled on and then a fungus set in... Are you near a university??? You could try the excelent resources of the Ag. Extension Service...
I think that #1 I would hit the plants for insects and #2 with a broad spectrum fungicide. I would also go online and source out a site that shows effects of fungi and bugbites.... I am fairly sure they are very common. (the bugs, not the sites)... :)

I'd say the camphorifolia looks like it has some kind of mites. The damage looks typical from other photos I've seen.
Thanks,
I bought a couple bottles of Garden Safe 3-in-1...Fungicide, insecticide and miticide. I sprayed them down until they were dripping yesterday morning. I'll repeat it next Saturday. Hopefully that will work. I thought I read somewhere that Bayer Rose & Flower Care was a 3-in-1 like this. Has anyone used that successfully on Hoyas? I can't seem to be able to find the Tree and Shrub anywhere. And I work at Home Depot! We've been out of it for quite awhile.
Thanks again,
Jen
Bayer Rose and Flower spray works too...but I didn't think it worked on mites. It just doesn't last as long!!! I have had luck using something with neem for mites...but you should use it again and again every 6-7 days.
