Pics of my ginger blooms
beautiful Nadine
Moodene, where did you get the Khymer Orange? All your curcumas look great. It's my first year growing them and I love them.
I've never seen variegated ones like these, they're beautiful
Nadine, I have to have that Khymer's Orange. Do you have a source for it? var. pinecone ginger is awesome, too.
Yes I do have a source for the gingers..Ya'll can contact me at my D-mail and can tell ya where..I cannot tell on here...lol...
Hi Nadine,
I thought I had one of those around the garden...but it's never bloomed..so it's mixed up.
How've you been....seems like it's about time for another Jerry's jungle sale?
Rj
LOL..Yep, I will be working at the sale too on October 19 and 20.See ya there..I have been working so much and also cleaning up my place when Rita hit here 2 years ago.
sigh...getin there tho..
Yes me too..and it's been such busy summer that projects are still lagging, especially sice the rain. Has an email been sent out yet?
No but I will being talking to Jerry soon...for those who help out at the sale gets an email from him first...to see who works when...LOL..
I've been checking mine to see if it's blooming yet.
The australian fern got so big this year that it shaded a portion of the garden I didn't previously think possible by the fern..
Well I do hope it bloom sometime for ya..mine is on its third round of blooms!
beautiful pictures moodene, How long does it take for the green cones to turn red? what's aperson have to do to get theirs red LOL.
ahhh..ya have to be patience...for them to turn red...I don't worry about mine..LOL
OH now there's a word I don't know about Patience? is that a flower or something LOL ha ha I guess i'm never gonna get red ones then.
I have only 1 bloom of the pine cone and it is red except for about 3/4 inch on the top. What do I do now?
I have some of those as well..I just cut mine when they turn red and freeze them in baggies..Then after that I take them out and put them in seal a meal bags so they can last much longer...
You can use the pinecone juice to shampoo ya hair or put it on your body....I put my pinecone in a micronetting bag and squeeze the juice out so that I don't get anything weird coming out of the pinecone into my hands..LOL...
Do they need to be frozen first?
well if i don't freeze it first...the juice will all come out when the seal a meal do its thing..it stucks the air out of the bag for me..so if I freeze before I put it in bag..well I will have the juice when I unfreeze them..LOL
makes sense, mine does the same thing, but I've never froze flower blooms before LOL
Well it is about time ya start!! LOL...if ya want them to last abit longer...when I use them during the winter months..I just think of spring time while taking a bath...
