I can't wait to see the flower on that seedling Michael; the bud alone is captivating. Take it easy for a while, you have been through a lot the past few weeks and a good rest is in order for you and yours.

Michael, are you sure that that is the real 'Madame Poni'? That looks very different from what the cultivar is supposed to look like. I realize that lack of heat can produce a different-looking pale flower, and I don't know if you have a lack of heat in your area right now or if this flower is inside or what, but that is really too different to morph into what it is supposed to look like. If I were you, I would contact the seller for a replacement.

I have one of Noam's seedlings too with an inflo. Congrats! I can't wait to see what it looks like.

Thanks for sharing your pics! They look great!

The Madame Poni does seem a lil (lot) different.
Its a beautiful flower and the inflo is thick so im keeping her.
I have other MPs.
The source is a quite generous and very dear friend.
Ill contact her for id but not replacement.
She sends me so much out of friendship
Id be a moron to ever complain

I understand what you mean. Mistakes can happen very easily with tags. I'm starting to double tag mine with one tag on the plant and one tag in the container pushed beneath the soil.

Mission Viejo, CA(Zone 10a)

I just picked up a couple of one gallons at Home Depot. I think they are grafts (looks like two differents stalks stuck together). They were double labeled. Good price, I think, but also I think they are common. One is Cancun Dreams, the other is Ruby Star (which I may return since I already have one (but until they bloom, I don't know which one and mine aren't showing their colors yet this year except for the Kauka Wilder). Yes, I'm new at this. :-)

Jackie, can you show a picture of these? Maybe they are two cuttings stuck together in one container, or do you actually see a graft line? Those two: 'Cancun Dreams' and 'Ruby Star' are C-Star's Nursery cultivars, and I have them both. 'Cancun Dreams' has an especially nice fragrance. Both of mine are in bloom right now. Here is 'Cancun Dreams.'

Here is 'Ruby Star':

Then again... maybe not :-)

I wasn't aware of grafting and several I looked at, I rejected because I thought they had been broken and a new limb grew up right out of the other (they were crooked at the "joint"). I picked two that looked least like they had been "broken."

Here's the Ruby Star (neither has flowers like all but one of my others):

The Ruby Star plant:

The Cancun Dreams (I suppose I should stake it?). They seemed a good price at about 3 + feet tall and $14 each....

Clare, the red label reads that they are from C Stars Nursery. Thank you for the photos. I look forward to the blooms AND fragrance! :-)

Jackie, I don't think those other ones were grafted. C-Stars is a huge operation and doesn't do grafting. You were probably right regarding your first observation. You were probably looking at broken "center cuts" that had sent up a new branch. That is a good price, and, yes, that one should be staked for a while;-)

Well my Noams seedling opened today
It was raining but the sun came out later
Im hoping shell develop some color
The petals seem longer than most for the width and they curl under nicely

Michael, I see some potential there!

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

How so?
Im trying to get past the white... :/

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Potential for grafting stock! LOL! Sorry, Michael. I was trying to cheer you up. My white seedings are used for grafting stock.

Montreal, Canada

Malestrom, could you kindly repost the picture of the India seedling in bloom. I have a few grown from seed, and would appreciate seeing what the flower color would look like.

Thanks

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

Im hoping the next round will show either color or longer petals so i dont have more root stock.

Flower_Mtl whats wrong with the links I put up?
They are working for me
Cant you see them?

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Michael, when you click on it, it shows that the file no longer exists. A few seedlings of mine are about to bloom for the first time also. I think I see a plain white coming also. I guess we'll see.

Montreal, Canada

Thank you, Clare. That is the exact problem that I have been having - the file is no longer in the database.

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

I changed the link in the first post if thats what you were referring to
The others still work for me.

Mulberry, FL

i checked out his flowers very nice love to see seedling photos. Keeps giving me hope on mine. Very nice Malestrom great buds nice flowers!

Montreal, Canada

Thank you so much Malestrom! Just beautiful! I have 3 India seedlings, and I have much hope after seeing yours. They are about the same age as yours.

Did you give the seedlings fertilizer and in what doses and frequency?

By the way, I only gave my seedlings a slow release, balance fertiliser. Also, I have no place to store them, so I was obliged to induce dormancy during the last winter. This might also account for the latent flower development...just my guest.

If you do not mind, I would appreciate seeing a picture of the entire plant so that I can compare with my seedlings.

Many thanks

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)
