My first "moon gardening" attempt

Denver, CO(Zone 6a)

This is my first vegetable garden ever and the first time I have planted by the moon. I used the Farmer's almanac guide for time of planting and everything is from seed. I was a little concerned about planting cool season crops in this heat (high 90 degree temps) but they are doing wonderfully.

See Mobi??? Nature never lies... LOL

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

It looks wonderful Mobi! I will love seeing how this does for you. I too am always worried about planting not only in the heat, but we could get zapped in mid Sept by a frost. This will be great to watch. I have such a fascination with planting by the moon, and have almost become obsessed with it LOL.
Is this in your front yard?

Denver, CO(Zone 6a)

Yes, it is my front yard. I have three Greyhounds so planting a vegetable garden in the backyard was a no go. I also live on a quiet street with little traffic, so I am not worried about higher metals in the soil due to emissions from cars.

I'd probably be more worried about hungry neighbors. :) LOL

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

LOL Ticker! I think that will be wonderful Mobi.

I figure if they are so hungry that they have to steal food then they can have it!

DustyDS, how right you are -- "Nature never lies!"

I want to plant a little winter garden, but it's so hot right now! When would be the latest good shot at planting? The earliest we EVER freeze is maybe November... maybe two years from now...

Mobi,

gorgeous veggie garden.... very tastefully done... if i were a neighbor, i would not complain.... i might even help you weed it. [if you get any weeds]

do keep us posted on the success of your 'moon gardening' attempt.

I have an update. My first garden did amazingly well. And I learned, I really don't need THAT much lettuce. Here are some recent pictures.

Thanks, it is growing really well. Almost everything came up. From now on, all do all the vegetable plantings by the moon.
