In a previous thread, Connie_W gave me an excellent suggestion on using ornamental grass in my ceramic vases. It's natural and graceful, and accentuates the vases without overpowering them, in my opinion. The grass I used sprang out from nowhere in one of my neglected plant containers. I know there are many nicer ornamental grasses out there....and if you are the proud caretakers of them, please share them with us! Well, here's mine.

Connie, thanks, but you're the one with the idea! I love that kind of feedback because I'm always eager to learn. I would love to see arrangements with grasses, but if you can't do it at the moment, I'm happy just to see them GROWing! I know how hot it is for many of us right now..we had an heat index of 110 the other day! I went to Lowes the other day and sweat up a storm in the garden center. I stop by frequently to check on clearance pots and plants. Last week I found these Cheyenne bowls (left) at $10 for the smaller one and like $12 (?) for the larger one. I searched all over for the smallest one to complete the collection, but couldn't find it. I also found 18" flaired ceramic pots (right) for $13, regular price $39! Hydrangeas were 75% off, I was so excited! My container garden is finally starting to come together. Oh I've gone totally off topic. Anyway, my next purchase would be some nice tall grass for my container. That would give the garden some height I think.

That's a beautiful arrangement Karmaplace (or may I call you "Karma" ? lol). It's very serene looking. Zebra grass (it has horizontal yellow stripes) or porcupine grass (similar) might also be nice choices tho' I don't know if you can grow those in your area. This really helps me to look @ "everyday" plants in a different light. Thank you!

Terri, thanks for joining in. I want to get into your head....to see where you're coming up with all this stuff. That is soooo original. Haven't seen anything like it....out of this world. It reminds me of the Jetson's (futuristic cartoon from the 80s?) in Vegas (gambling capital of the US...very flamboyant city). VERY COOL. I wonder what your guests are saying.

I was trying to get some sort of zen feel, uncluttered simple, but believe me , it took hours to get it so it didn't fall over!
I enjoyed making that Karma, thankyou for the idea using ornamental grasses, if I get more grasses in the future I
will have another go.

Thanks Terri for trying to keep me busy. I will see what I can do with lemongrass my dad has in his garden. Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't have any baskets worth showing. As you know, I lost everything in the flood and am just starting to collect things again. I will take another look around the house and see what I can come up with. Come back soon!
