We are having a terrible heat wave and most of my brug. blooms do not look so good. Also, the blooms are sparse. Creamsickle growing in full sun shows no effect of the weather.

Blooms in spite of heat
Tussee, what wonderful photos!
Nice pictures. For having such a draught and the high temps, you have some pretty brugs blooming. It sounds like a break in the heat is coming soon.
Lovely pictures. You've inspired me to add a couple more into my plan for next spring.
Thanks,
Jenny
very very beautiful never heard of the pink ones.. great pictures...
Beautiful blooms Tussee and what great flushes in spite of the heat.
I hope it cools down soon for you.
Thank you all. Wish that I could show some of my other doubles but they are not looking so good. In fact, I have cut into the side of several blooms and can find no stamen or pollen. What's up with that? Could this be the heat...they are watered daily so I know that is not an issue. Also, I fertilize twice weekly.

Very pretty photos. I hope my creamsickle looks like yours when she grows up :) Your MEM is beautiful. I have painted Lady and found out via my 115 + temps this year that she does pretty good in the heat compared to some of my others. She looks sad but has quite a few more leaves than the others. She made a Y right before the heat set in here, so hopefully she will resume and bloom for me this fall.
Thank you, Angel. Like everything else in life, it takes a while to learn what brugs. will take the heat and/or sun. Next year my exhibition plan for brugs. will hopefully be a tad more suited to their likes and I will have less double flowered plants so unhappy. Except for Creamsickle, I now know the doubles I have want only morning sun and afternoon shade. There is a limit to how many I can accommo-date with this lighting, as much of my garden is full sun. Also, since so many are in the sun this year, it takes me about 2 hours to water all the pots, including other types of potted plants, everyday. Too time consuming for sure.

Sometimes I feel like I never finish anyth
They look great tussee! I too hope your heat ends soon.
Wow, wow, wow, what gorgeous blossoms! Congratulation Tussee, and keep those pics. coming please.
Your brugs are very lovely. Please continue to share your bounty!
It's good to know which brugs do well in the heat, especially as we are breaking lots of high temp records here in GA and, I know, elsewhere across the country.
50% of my brugs get afternoon shade but the others, mostly seedlings, are getting full afternoon sun and a few are blooming but most are not, altho most have y'd.
The ones continously blooming for me, altho small flushes, are Adora, Temple God and Ollie.
Wow your photos are amazing! That is a lot of blooms Tussee! You are so blessed with your bounty of blooms!
Here in CA, out of 85 brugs, the only ONE that continues to bloom no matter what is Candida Dbl White. The rest is so green it's pathetic. LOL This is the hardest part of the brug year... green green greeeen.... makes a person crazy with anticipation!
This spring I had a handfull of blooms on: Dr Suess & Jamie Then 4 blooms on Butterfly and a second "flush" of 4 blooms, and one bloom on New Orleans Lady.. that's it for the whole season so far!
edited to add: It's been in the low 90's for a couple of weeks so I have a lot of buds, but the weather forcast is for high 90's by the end of the week, so I anticipate picking buds off the ground again...

Everything you grow looks so beautiful Tussee, you sure have a green thumb despite the weather!
You certainly have a lot of nice blooms.
I'm so envious! You have a great collection, and obviously serious skills!
Many thanks everyone. Cooler weather looks to be coming so all of us are going to have beautiful flowers to show each other. 'bout time!
Tussee
Just beautiful! Thanks for the photos I needed some color!
Whoa! Those blooms are AMAZING! I planted my first brug this year and it's still a baby. I didn't know they got that big. I 'm going to have to move it; it's not going to have enough room where it is. Do you put any kind of special fertilizer on yours?
I know exactly what you mean about not being able to finish anyth
From what I've gathered, brugs require some "chilling" period to aid on its blooming time. By chilling I meant; cool autumn's like breeze. For in early June, we've had an unseasonably cools temp. for a short period. My white brug went on and gave me a flush of bloom by the end of July.
Other variety hasn't even form buds.... Is there any takes on this observation?
Also, most brugs' blooms so far that I've seen on DG this season are from up North, zones 4,5,6 and the like. So for those of us in the South, bring them indoor to prolong your blooming time at the end of the season?
Tussee; what is your everage night temp. there? Care to share your zone so others can benifit from your experience? Thank you.
Kim

Just had to show you this photo as it is amazing...I'm sitting here totally enthralled. Here's Creamsickle again, and would you look at the new blooms coming on. I removed the last bloom from the previous flush today and look at the buds. I stopped counting at 36 buds and that was just on one branch. Wow. For sure, if I could only have one brug. it would be this one. All the spraying, watering, fertilizing, and removing yellow leaves has been more than worth it. The third flush in a row. Wow! This gal has had more than one workmen bring a camera to take pictures; wait till they see her this time around. I'm so excited, I may bring her inside the house and cozy her in the middle of my bed for complete protection. Sweetheart will understand, but I'm not sure about Daisy. Lol
Tussee... a grand flush..and more on the way... isn't catering to them ajoy ... when they come through with that kind of thanks... Gordon
Thank you Delisa. Soon your long season of bloom will begin, mine will be over. Would you like to trade gardens around October? :)
Gordon seeing so many blooms on two or three plants makes me feel a bit kinder to the ones just sitting there, drinking water and fertilizer, waiting for cooler days. If they do not bloom when its cool...off with their heads!
Tussee
I just dropped by and your Cream Sickle screamed come and look at me. It is one of my favorites!! Yours is particularly beautiful, Tussee.
I finally have brug blooms here too, it has been a long wait.
AAArrrrgh, now I want a Creamsickle! This doesn't end, does it....
LOL @ Andy....
Now your gonna have more pics to drool over! Too Cool..
I hope you get a chance to sit and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Tussee where do you get your brugs from? They are some of the most beautiful. But then your hole garden is beautiful..
steph
Thank you, Steph. Let me know if I can be of help with new brugs.
Tussee
Hi, tussee
You have beautiful brugs. I am guessing you have a GH? We drove thru your town a couple of weekends ago. Do you ever have fungus gnats?
Teresa in KY
Teresa, gnats plague me during the winter months inside with my seedlings, but I have not noticed a problem with them outside. Perhaps I'm so busy keeping mites, white fly, and cats. under control I have over looked them. I have a gh but it is not large enough to hold my large plants. They winter in my potting shed with some light and heat. My brug. cuttings are started in the gh, and when potted, stay there until it's time to go outside.
