Alright lets play a game

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

What is the one plant in your garden that you would be if you could be a plant?

I know this could be deep but lets just have some fun!

Mine - I guess it would have to be a Evergreen Sumac, I dont know why but I love that plant. Green all year and loves to grow dry or wet, rain or shine.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I am going to have trouble because I love so many, but i am going to say the Red Buckeye, Aesculus pavia, because it is small and bright, and I like that.

Frostweed, what color is your blouse? Buckeye Red? lol
:~)

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

lol

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Actually my house is an earthy beige and brown, but I do love red.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

blouse not house Josephine...

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh my goodness, I guess my eyes were blinded by the red, Never mind!!!

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

lol - can you think of an all red house? sunglass time...

I misread all the time.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

That's funny, girl. You can't even see your house in the pix! All I can see is you, the Buckeye red shirt, & the Red Buckeye! lol
Mitch, this is a fun game! Wait til the others get on here! No telling what they might see or show us!
:~)

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

I've been thinking about this, and can't decide which plant I'd be. I would not want to be the grass. You get walked on all day, dogs and cat do their business, and you've gotta get a haircut once a week.

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9b)

Id like to be posion Ivy

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

phicks do share why!

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

Hey I read "house" not blouse to!!!!! So weird!

We actually have a neighbor with 3 car garage that's painted a nice dark red. It looks really great! They have black accents on it and weather vane, etc and it reminds me of a carriage house!

Back to thread: I'd like to be a willow tree. (Do trees count Mitch?)

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Sure they do - just tell us why.

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

We had a huge one in our backyard growing up---biggest tree in the world to me as a kid. Nice and stately. And not to common. I just feel like being reverent in the presence of one. Weird, huh?

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Nope sounds great to me.

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

:) Glad you included trees to!

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

I guess I'd be a weed because you wouldn't be able to get rid of me!

I'm a daylily, ask my husband. I'd be very expensive to replace, not much to look, except the 2 or 3 days out of summer I decide to put on a skirt and some lip gloss.

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL, almost choking on my sandwich. Those are some good ones.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Keep them coming... these are great.

Fort Worth, TX

My beautiful large Bottle Brush. I love the red blooms and the way the butterflies love them.

Tyler, TX

I'd be an aloe vera so that I'd always be useful.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

My first thought is the Aloe Vera plant because I'd get to live in the house all year and I could make people feel better.
But if we're talking outside plants, I'd be the Agave cactus because nobody better mess with me and, after a long life, I'd go out with a bang.

Sorry Shirley! Didn't mean to copy you.

Cocoa, that was tooooooo awesome! ROFL!!!!

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

If I could plant anything...

Quaking Aspen trees. Lots of them.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Love the thought... charming.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

I'd be bitterweed, 4 nerve daisy. It is a very happy low maintenance plant almost all year round, even blooms in winter. It seduced me into liking yellow flowers (Now that doesn't mean I am bitter or seductive although maybe I will get on your nerves!)

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

phicks, still wondering why poison ivy?

Canyon, TX(Zone 6b)

I'd be Rose Moss!

It is bright and cheery, and a suprise everyday with new flowers and arangment or colors! And it comes back every year, and will grow and look great just about anywhere! And if you break a piece off you can just stick it back in the dirt and it will reroot and grow into a great new plant!

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I'd be a tropical hibiscus. Feed me lots, pay lots of attention to me and I'll show off all the time.

Anne

Beaumont, TX

I'd be woolly thyme so I could cover the ground and keep an eye on all my plants day and night...and "feel"good. :)

Selkirk Island, TX(Zone 9a)

A yellow rose...................not as elegant and showy as a red rose but put in the right arrangement beautiful. Handle with care or you better watch out for thorns......lol

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

Got it. I'll be sweet violets. I can hang out in the shade to escape the hot sun, but can grow well under a variety of conditions. Not too showy, but nice blooms in the spring/early summer, then I start to rest in the heat. I like water, but can get by without a whole bunch or it. No need to pamper with extravagant feedings. Useful plant (edible flowers). Propagation is easy.

edited for spelling

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

I guess I'd have to be a Rose of Sharon (Althea). It blooms furiously even in the hottest part of summer, is extremely low maintenance, and is the plant that got me interested in gardening.

Carla

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Good choice, Carla! Have you ever rooted that from cuttings?

SE Houston (Hobby), TX(Zone 9a)

I wanna be COMPOST! Cause it looks good, feels good, smells good, people speak highly of it and seek after it, worms love it, plants love it, flowers love it, it's a priceless commodity, only gets better with time, and I'd actually BE all the caffeine I need!

How's That?

Bwahahaha gymgirl----you rock!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Right on, Gymgirl!!

Bronc, I haven't rooted an Althea myself. But Sheila gave me rooted cuttings at last Oct's roundup and I was successful at babying one thru the winter and it's growing very nicely in my flowerbed.

Carla

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh good! I've got a "red eye snowball" and have been wondering if it can be rooted. Maybe I'll give it a shot and bring some to the swap.
