I was suggested by somebody on this forum to get Tabebuia impetiginosa with the pink flowers ,so I got some of these . I wonder if this tree will look nice along with the Brazilian Jacaranda which blooms in beautiful lavender flowers.
I wonder if those trees are about the same height and if they bloom at the same time. If they do , I think they will look amazing together. I live in Puerto Rico zone 11.
How appart should I plant them? I was planning on planting several of them since I have plenty of space.
This is a picture of my piece of land , My house will soon be constructed here :-) But still I will have a big place for the trees.
Jacaranda and Tabebuia impetiginosa (Pink Trumpet) Q's..
I think the Tabebuia blooms earlier in the year than Jacaranda does--I'm pretty sure it blooms in spring either before or just as the leaves are coming in. And Jacaranda blooms a bit later, in late spring/early summer. At least it does around here, maybe in a warmer climate it might bloom a bit earlier.
You are in Zone 11 - so it might be different. But as ecrane3 stated, Jacarandas bloom after the early spring flowering trees bloom. Since you are in zone 11, I highly recommend a few Cassias. My personal favorite is Cassia fistula x C. javanica AKA Rainbow Shower Tree.
I have 2 cassia , they are very pretty!!
Beautiful land, Goddessdreams. What are those two cassias you have there? I grow about 10 Cassia species (only tree type Cassias) at my place. They are my favorite trees.
I have 2 Cassia Javanica and another cassia that I forgot the name , but it blooms in yellow and is a shrub
That Tabebuia blooms in late fall, or at least it does in India, where it was in full bloom in November. It is much larger than many of the other tabs; think of it as a flowering shade tree. It's more upright than the Jacaranda, too.
Will they look good together? I imagine they would if they bloomed together!

That would be amazing. But if they don't then I will make a dramatic change during the seasons....sounds good to me too.
The Shower trees have such lovely blooms!!! Also the Gardenia Carinita (Carolita??), Tabernaemontana,....gotta plant palms with them too for contrast!!!
