The guy who sells me orchids had this hoya in bloom. Since I'm a hoya newbie, I wondered if anyone could ID it for us.
ID anyone?
Looks to me like it could possibly be one of the many clones of H. verticillata. Carol has several clones of it so maybe she'll chime in and be of a bitmore help.
dmichael
Gorgeous. I haven't seen blooms like that. I'm not a "pink" person, but that bloom's got some character. Love it.
Gabi
i love it too, but I am and always have been a pink person - agree it looks like a verticillata, very much like the sp. Bogor on Myhoyas.
I lost a verticillata cutting a few weeks back, I hope it wasn't that color because then I would be even more depressed over losing it!
I'll look it up! Thanks so much! Don't you think I deserve a cutting sometime????
I've had this plant for years - I was given a cutting as a gift and was just told it was a Hoya. It can bloom a couple times a year and has to be root-bound to bloom. The flowers look artificial....they're so perfect. My plant just finished blooming a few weeks ago.
My verticillatas all bloom white....not that pale pink. Such a great fragrance too!
She's a beauty, what ever it may be, I love the pink.
Ooooooh, Tami. Beautiful blooms and excellent shot!!!
If You look on Carols site you can compair the two.

Love Carol's website!!!
Ditto boojum! It's evil! It just sucks me in and makes me open my wallet - I was looking over my paypal history since 2005 and lets just say that I have spent a pretty penny on those hoyas (well worth it, by the way) - I will rue the day when La Pimpette takes down her shutter!
LOL!
GASP - Ann, don't even suggest such a terrible thing!! That would be like having no more birthdays, or Christmas!! Take it back, I tell ya, take it back Ann!!
I hear you about spending pretty pennies on hoyas though. I haven't ever added mine up, but my sister thought it would be funny to add up all that I have spent, and make an announcement......Gotta love Bryan, he didn't even bat an eye!! HA! He just knows that all of my accessories cost even more than the plants that grow on them.

Denial is a wonderful thing - don't want to even go near the "history" tab on my paypal.....
How about we plan a group trip to Hawaii, where we can march with picket signs and demand she never pull down her shutter?!
Karen
Right on Karen!! I am too young for the original protest movement, but I would have no problem chaining myself to a tree (preferably one with hoyas growing on it) to keep my supplier in place!!
S
We really do sound like addicts - tee hee - at least it's healthy and we can't catch a disease or have disgusting track-marks on our arms. I love it ... Insane Batman is going to chain herself to one of Carol's hoya trees - I'm bringin' a camera!!
Sooooo Ann, are you saying that you won't be up in the top of same tree starvation / fasting in protest of the same cause......I think some pretty radical protesters even do it "au natural"......
I'll be right there with you batman!
Naked in Hawaii sounds like a plan compared to naked in MA, piece of cake.
LOL, boojum!!
OO-OO-AH-AH. Swinging on the hoya vines!
Now...if I give you sizzors will you promise not to hurt yourselves!!!?
No, 'cause those are my favorite things to run with (LOL)
:-)
Those are my favorite things to clip hoya cuttings with. :-)
Tami
Ann, LOL that cracks me up...
:-)
Tami
The only way you get on the property is with clippers and a BIG SACK!!!!
Carol, LOL!!!
Carol,
Boy would we have fun. I bet your glad we all can't just drive over right about now. LOL
