I am not sure if this is clear enough to id or not. I hope it is so I will know what I have in the yard.

I think it might be an Armyworm, they have those half circles on their backs.

Some consider it a pest but then again, some consider all caterpillars a pest. It becomes some kind of Miller moth.
I hate to suggest to someone to kill it, when I find them I move to the neighborhood park area.
