I have the blue and a coral color Achimenes, If anyone would like to trade a rooted cutting of a white one please let me know.
Achimenes
I do have a close up of the coral but for some reason it will not go through, I tried posting it twice but nothing.
wish I had it for you....................
I wish I had any Achimenes plant, I love the blue and the coral color and I bet white is gorgeous too! They are just lovely!
me, too, Lin (LOL)
Rooted cutting? How does one go about rooting an Achimenes? I thought they only reproduced by rhizome.
rooted cuttings??????
I'm no expert but I think you can root them and then they form the rhizones.Check out Keyrings thread.

thanks so much, Jannich.......................now I know we can just take cuttings from the achimenes (sp?) and the rhizome will form in time........................great to know....................
It is true what jannich says, they root very easy in water and after they are planted they form the rhizomes.
Morning stetchworth,
I forgot to mention your achimenes are beautiful.I love the coral one. Another on the long want list.LOL.
I am under the impression that pretty much all the Gesneriads can be propagated by cuttings - either leaf, or stem, or sucker. Sinningias form a tuber from their cuttings, Kohlerias form a rhizome from cuttings, etc.
Although... just to be sure, I think all of you with Achimenes should send me cuttings so I can test that theory! ;o) LOL Just kidding! :o) They're beautiful plants!
Let's all figure out where we can order some................i don't have a single one...............would love to have cuttings or rhizomes.........................
