Blessings, and happy Sunday to all!

Show us what's blooming at your house!

Oooos and Aaaahs over your episcia 'Chocolate Velour' blossoms. I can hardly wait until the stolons you sent me will be sizeable plants and have those lovely flowers. I love the contrast of colors with the dark brown velvety foliage and the lavender blooms.

For the hummingbirds alone, I will have large hanging baskets of streptocarpella next year for sure. I feed the darling birds and they are attracted to several red/orange flowering plants I have for them but didn't know till you mentioned it that they liked the streptocarpella. I have a small pot of it now sitting next to the Gloxinia Sylvatica which the hummers love.

Lovely Blooming Beauties, Ladies! I Love your Chocolate Velour Karen! So pretty! I don't know why I thought that plant had red blooms! I have always loved the Streptocarpella but haven't had a lot of luck with it in the past. I have a small pot that has still not bloomed. It's in full sun but it is in my pool enclosure so maybe the screen is filtering too much of the sun. I might have to try putting it outside somewhere to see if it does better. I was just afraid the direct sun would fry it.

Snow: I Love, Love that Gloxinia! I was on the Secret Garden Rare Plants Web Site yesterday and am thinking about ordering one from them! Very pretty contrast with that Glox and the Streptocarpella .... love the looks of those two side by side!

Very pretty bloom.

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Snowrose... that Gloxinia Sylvatica is striking! No wonder the hummers love it so much!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

WildRose..................oh my goodness...............you have something I want badly...............let me think what I might have to trade you..............that 'chocolate velour' bloom has to be the prettiest flower I have ever seen on an episcias!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be thinking what you cannot live with out for a stolon of that beauty......................

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Not a problem Gail! I'm sure you've mentioned a variety or two that I would feel the same way about. LOL! Don't you have 'Suomi'? How about something with an orangey-yellowish bloom...

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

WildRose..............all my episcias just bloomed except for two blooming now........and of course I can't remember which ones bloomed what......................my poor Suomi came from that batch from Lyndon Lyons and she will live but it will be a long time before she is pretty. He told me that if I lost any to let him...........they are not lost..............they are ugly..............and will take time.............

Let me post a few pictures that bloom yellow or orange............this is Chirita 'Aiko' which blooms yellow........I got her in February and she hasn't bloomed yet.

This is a relatively new semi miniature that has some yellow in her bloom but you can't see it in this picture. (I have already lost her name but bmedel knows)

I love this episcia called 'Topaz' and has so many yellow blooms everywhere when she does bloom, but she has to live in a glass house..............the foliage is literally a bright lime green.

strep with a name but I don't have her marked........very yellow throat..................

I am positive that i could go back through my pictures and find the episcias that bloom yellowish orange............just can't find them readily right now.

Karen, I had decided that I didn't want 'Chocolate Velour'. Can't remember why, but it doesn't matter now...thanks for changing my mind! LOL That flower is simply beautiful! :o) 'Blue Nile' is as well. :o)

Love the G. sylvatica, Snowrose!! I just sowed some seeds for it...think they'll bloom soon?? LOL

Gail, 'Checkerboard' is beautiful, but the foliage on 'Topaz' just takes the cake!! And it blooms yellow? That has to be a gorgeous compliment to the foliage. :o)

Love all the pictures of beautiful plants! :o)

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I have no blooming av or anything in the house at the moment. Darn I must go look around and see if I can find something.

You said you were propagating some things, makshi. Snap some pictures of those and put them on the propagation thread. I'd love to see your pictures! :o)

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Makshi, if I can keep taking pictures of my strep seedling that people have to strain their eyes to see, you know we post pictures of everything (LOL)

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Gail and all... took a photo of the 'Choc. Velour' bloom with a ruler behind it, so you could see how large it is. It's nearly 2" across! And to think I bought this one for the foliage! LOL!

Ok ... don't mean to show my dense side here ... but remind me please, is the Chocolate Velour a Strep or an Episcia?? I am new to both and can't remember!

That is one large flower and soooo Gorgeous!!

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Lin... it's an episcia.

Here's a photo of the whole plant...

Oh Wow ... that is Lovely!

That's so beautiful, Karen!! I must have been thinking of another Episcia I didn't want, because I'd never decide against one with purple flowers. But then "don't want" is relative when it comes to plants...it really means just not at the top of my list. LOL I can't think of any Gessies that I truly do not want! :oP

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Oh geez. How beautiful your eps.is Karen.I love the color flower it has.Another one the want list.LOL.

Gail,beautiful as always

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)
