Looking for anyone that has any color of Java Chickens. The Java Club's Web site is no longer, as well as some other sites on Java. I have sent lots of emails to several of the better know breeders and to the Chicago Heritage Farm and have not gotten any replys.
thanks

Java Chickens Heritage Fowl
Did you ask at backyardchickens.com, someone there might be able to help steer you in the right direction.

Thanks Julie,
I have started a Java Chicken group on yahoo groups. I have already helped a guy find some eggs here in NC. These are wonderful birds. I even had some hatch this week that were a light blue in color but I have been told that they will end up black. But at least it's getting close to one day getting a solid blue Java I hope.

Good luck with your group and hatchings !!!
I confess to having no experience with Javas only what I looked up on feathersite.com

Daturapod, There are almost certainly more than a hundred individuals in the USA and a few major/minor hatcheries with Java chicken flocks scattered all over. Javas have been available from Murray McMurray in mottled color type. The other places have them in black and white. I believe there is a hatchery in Texas (not Ideal) with the black as well as the white. There is a Preservation Hatchery in Kansas or somewhere with extreme high pricing on what they refer to as endangered breeds. And of course every breed they have listed is endangered. LOL..... The advent of the internet has made the designation of endangered for almost every "so called Heritage Fowl" pretty much inaccurate and none of them are in danger of being lost. Go to EGGBID.COM. Java chicks in white and black have been available for 6 months of the year on various auctions provided you buy 25 or more. There is a Heritage Farm in Cleveland, Ohio with a rather large Java flock. I considered having Javas so I looked into the breed. I read threads like this occasionally and they sorta make me cringe. Take it for what its worth.
