Finally!
Anemopsis macrophylla
Lovely flower! Sounds like you've been waiting a while? Are these in a trough/rock garden, or in a woodland setting?
Hi Alta,
The flower has a pink tinge which is not shown.
I have a Plum Grove north of my house and three Anenomopsis
live with some small Ferns. I planted this lovely three years ago,
and this is the first bloom. The other two have buds.
Maybe this plant doesn't belong in the Alpine group, but I wanted to
share it.
I am convinced the sprinkling hoses installed last year have helped.
I was just wondering what range of conditions it can tolerate... from a bit of reading, it sounds like woodland is definitely it. I planted one of these a couple of years ago in a shady bed under birches... didn't notice it this spring, oh well. Looks like this species has quite lovely foliage too - well done!
Very nice flower! Do you have any pictures with a fuller shot of the
entire plant?
Tam
How cool! Thanks for posting it here. Are you going to
add it to PlantFiles now? :-)
Gee, Tam, I can't figure that one.
Well, we'll enjoy it here then!
