English Ivy - style cascade

Can anyone provide some advice on how to create a bonsai with my English Ivy plant in the style Cascade.

Maybe set it up with a wire bent to the shape you want and train it along this. When it has reached the desired length, prune off the lower foliage leaving the cascade foliage over the pot. Just a guess!
