My third Rum Runner for the day ... a closeup image.

Rum Runner bush ... 3 blooms today!!

Anyone know why the leaves are yellowing? And the blooms are a tad smaller than usual (about 4-5 inches) with shorter stamiles (correct term/sp?). It's under 2-3 inches of cedar mulch, planted with granular fertilizer and gets a bi-weekly foliar 20-20-20. Help?

Red Celia, I believe ... smaller bloom than usual.

And another pic of what I think is a Red Celia ...

4 Schizo blooms today ... and some new buds for tomorrow! This one has been really outfperforming itself since I staked it!!

I'm wondering if this in fact was labeled correctly as a Peach Hardy because the foliage is much more gray than the foliage on my Rum Runners, Schizo and the Red Celia and Double Peach?

Second pic of possible Hardy Peach ... (? anyone ?)

*sigh* Cairo Peach?

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

Cairo Peach? Hummmm ... I can't find anything on that on here or on Google. Is that a hardy one?

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Amanda, type Cairo Peach Hibiscus in the search box and lots of references will come up. It does look a lot like a CP.

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

K, will do. Anyone know if it's a hardy or tropical?

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

Well, it's very similar, that's for sure! The limbs don't wrap around each other (but I'm a novice so I don't know how that's done anyway) but it sure is a beauty.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Rum Runner is looking lovely, as is your Cairo Peach :-)

I've got a first time bloomer (for me) today - Gabriel.

Gabriel is one of my all time favorites!

Another pretty bloom from my "little" Belle de Jour.

Wow, Gordo, I like the colors on your Gabriel! I've been waiting for this one to bloom for quite a while, now I should have several blooms within the next week :-)

Here's todays "in the pot" Black Dragon. I've got Black Dragon twins opening up on the one in the ground, but they are still in the shade this morning. I'll take their pic once they've hit the sunlight :-)

Mango Tango has another new bloom. This spot in a sitting area (more like a potted plant area) next to our waterfall is where most of my hibiscus and plumerias are. I'm totally loving all the color there lately - mostly bright colors in this spot :-)

Gator Pride has two new blooms that look just like this.

Magnifique's bloom today is a little off in color, not to mention the grasshopper holes :-( This bloom is on the much-shadier side of the plant today. I wonder if that has affected the color?

I'll have a couple more later today, they just haven't woken up yet.

Have a beautiful day!

Amarantha,
Love, love, love your belle du jour.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Cat, your Blueberry Thrill gave me a thrill. That one is going to be gorgeous when it is fully open.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Beautiful. There is a single hibiscus posted that I wouldn't love to have. Today I have a couple of blooms on Gator Pride and one on Tangerine Dream, but it didn't open very well. More cupped this time.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Yes, I really like Blueberry Thrill too, I haven't seen it before! Lovely :-)

Thanks for your compliments on BDJ, Cat. I just love the ruffles.

Here's my second part blooms for today - Strawberry Fields Forever.

I received my Blueberry Thrill from Robert, along with:
Voodoo Queen
Stolen Kiss
Hot Bikini
Delta Dawn
Envie

All are in absolutely gorgeous shape!

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

I'm so envious you got to Envie!!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh Karen, I really like Strawberry Fields Forever. My list is sure getting long.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

LOL Brugie, you sound like me!! Like I said in another thread, instead of never being too rich or too thin - my motto is you can never have too many hibiscus ;-)

Nederland, TX(Zone 9a)

Absolutely beautiful blooms by everyone today. Unfortunately I have been so busy all that I could do is admire mine as I passed them. Hey Cat, that blueberry thrill looks familiar. I am glad she was opening for you.
