Pussytoes, Pussytoes where are you?

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

I brought some Pussytoes home from Harts plant swap. They weren't potted up, she just dug me some up and I carried them home in a bag. When I got home I was looking for something to set them in and somehow they ended up in an old broken feed scoop. Every so often I would think about planting them but I wasn't sure where and they looked pretty happy in that old scoop. Today I was looking at them and thinking about planting them in my old work boots. I want to plant something in them but haven't decided what, not Hens and Chicks. Do you think they would do well planted in my old work boots?

I think they look kinda cute in this old scoop and they seem to be growing well. I'll move these into the corner of my garden this fall and I think next spring I'll put somemore back into this scoop and set it somewhere, too.

That is cute, Holly! Whata great idea. You should try it with some tiny leaved plants like thyme too.

Oh, thyme is a good idea, too. They are my old steel toe workboots. I knew I wanted to plant something in them when I retired, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

What about the golden moneywort/creeping jenny? I have plenty of it. If you'd like some let me know and I'll bring some to the swap.

Unfortunatly I won't be at the swap in Sept. Ric and I will be down at the Outer Banks. Hopefully I can get some of that next spring.

Have yours bloomed yet? My "pussytoes" turned out to be "mouse ears," and they have the cutest little dandelion-like blooms on tall stems! I'm going to try them as groundcover between irises... Thanks, Hart!

And yes, I think they'd look cute in your boots! Mine have started to throw out a few little trailing bits (short runners). You could tuck a bit of creeping thyme in also, or maybe something a little more upright...

Ah Ha, I have found them. It really became a Pussytoes, Pussytoes where are you moment. About a month ago I realized that I had planted my Pussytoes at the end of summer and I didn't know where I had put them. I could just see myself "hat in hand" asking Hart for more because I lost the first ones she gave me. LOL While I was out cleaning one of the beds I found them and they look like they overwintered just fine. AH relief it feels so good!!!

Holly, for goodness sakes, there are zillions of those here. I'm waiting for them to bloom to give Critter some more. Just let me know if you need more.

Oh Hart, I know you have a lot of them and are very generous with your plants. I just found it funny that the heading for this thread became so true. LOL

I might not have PussyToes, but I've got MouseEars! They're pretty cute, too.

Well, I think they are as cute as they can be. Love your scoop planter, Holly.
