Does anyone have a photo of a Crimson Patch and Red-Bordered Pixie chrylasis they can post here?
One of the program specialists at a local park found some chrysalids on a Guamuchil tree and cannot ID them. Guamuchil is the larval host for the Red-Bordered Pixie butterfly...but I've never seen a chrysalis so can't ID it myself. We've been having an explosion of Crimson Patch butterflies so am thinking perhaps they could be chrysalids of that butterfly...but alas, I've not raised any myself so can't say it's a Crimson Patch or not.
If anyone knows what these chrysalids are please let me know. Or if you have a Red Bordered Pixie or Crimson Patch chrysalis please share a photo for comparision.
