Is this a Hibiscus seedling?

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

I have 3 of these ... I'd originally thought they were weeds in my front yard (very near my front hardy hibiscus) but then I looked at the leaf shape and thought they may be owrth saving to see. They've grown pretty slowly, not much like weed growth ... anyone know? Or should i just throw whatever it is out?

This is the one that I think MIGHT be the parent. Notice the leaf similarities?

I think your mystery plant leaves have serrations that are just a little bit too deep, and the leaves are narrower than the hibiscus leaves. I'm not sure what it is, but I don't think it's a hibiscus. Could be wrong though!

Awwwww ...

not a hibiscus looks more like a Chinese elm seedling.Any elm trees nearby, the seeds from them can travel over a block away on the wind.

A Chinese Elm? What is that? I guess I'll have to go look it up on PlantFiles ... Wow - are you sure? Is it something worth saving or trashing?

I don't want anymore trees, what am I thinking? I guess I'll trash it. Oh well, thanks!
