First time post. Some pics of my ears

Boyce, LA

Live in central Louisiana, good place to grow ears. These are all first year plants.

Those ears look great. I have always wanted to try them. They remind me of my childhood. My sisters and I picked them from an empty lot and used them for umbrellas in the summer. Are they hard to grow?

Hi Smokey. EE are easy for me to grow. Guess I have the right soil, good mixture of shade and enough water. Once they get started they just keep growing. I will transplant some this winter. They do like shade.

WOW, you have a lot! What kind of soil did you plant then in?

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Hi Earl, welcome Dave's Garden and the Aroid Forum. Those look great! I like their placement, too! I'm in zone 5b, and have to dig each fall or plant in pots, do you plan on leaving them in the ground? I wish I could. - very pretty! Enjoy DG- (WARNING: may cause low balance in checking acct and an abundance of new plants/seed/starts/bulbs waiting to be planted)

Aunt B and Smokey. They are planted in top soil over a bed of river sand. I did sprinkle them with a slow release fertilizer. And the are mulched with Magnolia leaves. We have had rain fairly often this year and my drainage is very good.
A bloom from a Black EE. It is potted, I'll break it up and plant in the ground this spring.
We leave the plants in the ground year round.
