LOL! That looks great!! Nifty idea!!
Very Pretty! Was just telling Islandshari about being creative over on the other thread! Very good!
How do tropicals grow in the UK? ha ha I know...in the ground or in containers.
LOL Had heard of one guy online who had a tropical garden there...forgot his name, I did. His did very well.
We usually end up off on a musical tangent as well here on the Tropical Forum; since you are in the UK, have you heard of the Celtic Woman singing group from Ireland? They will be there in a few weeks. They just finnished their tour here in the USA a month or so ago. We love them!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the Tropical Forum...see ya around!
Aloha Terriculture, and welcome to the tropics! You have created a lovely tropical island for yourself, very pretty!
Please join us, I would love to hear news from across the pond (acually 2 ponds!)
Jenny
Gee The imagination you know I just remembered I live on an Island too! it is a whopper called Australia love your little island...you definatley belong over here! be warned however....seat belts on ....sun glasses ......(ear plugs)
come with us on a magic carpet ride.....
In the middle of an Island ...in the middle of an ocean.......la lala !
TC, those are beautiful, you certainly have an artistic touch! My arrangements always look like something the cat dragged in! Can you buy all those pretty flowers locally or do you grow them?
Aw thank you, they are gorgeous! You must have a dab hand with flowers! How much garden do you have that you have so many varieties growing? Do you have a cottage garden, masses all cramed together? I love cottage gardens, so much a part of my childhood in Essex.
Funny it's morning for you, it's eight on a Monday night for me... Don't know what time it is for Shari probably Tuesday 'cus of the date line?
Lovely, lovely breakfast setting!
Aloha,
Jenny
Hi you know I love the tropics... but it has to be said- that nobody does gardening like the folk in the UK.....if I couldn't have a garden full of tropicals it would be the famous English cottage gardens...your Summers kind but the Winters harsh.....so lovely....hard hard work to keep them that way.....terriculture your flowers and darling little Island are just wonderful.....did you see fairies in the mushrooms as a child....I am sure I did *giggling*
isn't imagination a beautiful thing. Nothing confines you and we can go anywhere we want.....just close your eyes....and off you go:)
Aloha!, does that mean hello or goodbye or both?
I told them on the cut flowers and floral design forum that I was going to my tropcal Island on holiday! We are doing flower shows and one of the themes is holidays. If you go there Chrissy, and look at the
'getting to know you' theme, you will see I love Liverpool!
If only I had some frangipani or hibiscus to decorate my Island.
My 'real' garden is very cottage just like you imagine! even Beatrix potter comes here with
Peter sometimes.
Terri, that's beautiful!!!!!! Excellent job!
Thanks Texasgal, glad you liked it. I must get on with my tropical Island now, they are waiting to see the 'other' part of my Island.and I told them I wasn't going back to London until the rainy
season starts.LoL!
I need more exotic flowers, even my sunflowers are late, we have had so much rain and not
enough sunshine.
Know the feeling! It's rained more this summer than I've ever seen it in 30 years!
We've hardly gone just a few days then it rains again! It's kept the temps down so at least the light bill was less than it normally is, but still hot and humid!
I love the silver pot with the mixed flowers...what all is there together? That is gorgeous!
Terriculture....I feel so bad that I hadn't yet seen your adorable tropical island! Just beautiful! And you are so very welcome here....best folks in the Garden! As has already been said, you have a lovely talent with your flowers.
Aloha means hello, goodbye, I love you, have a nice day, good night, pretty much what every you need it to say. And all my dear friends here in DG know that I use Yokwe in very much the same way...It is a Marshallese word whose direct translation would be "Love to everyone", but it is used just like Aloha. For emphasis I will say yokwe yuk, which is more formal, and also more in the direct meaning of Love to everyone. Somewhere on another forum we had a lively discussion going regarding all the different ways people say things....it was fun and very informative.
I am so glad you came over to our little tropical gabfest! There are so many "Brits" in DG, but we don't get too many here. So grab a cuppa, sit back and join in the fun.
Yokwe,
Shari
Lovely! What are those white/pink flowers? Very pretty, look like hibiscus, but if so are they cut?
Thanks Islandshari, those flowers are a few pips from my gladioli (see jug display above). It's very hard to make
a tropical garden from here in my cottage garden, I don't know what I was thinking!
Whatever you were thinking, I think it's lovely. And I love glads! suprised I didn't recognize it! Besides, what are our gardens for, if not to do what we wish with the incredible bounty of Mother Nature. Let your imagination soar, and bask in the compliments.
Aloha, Thanyou for the encouragement! Florists use those gladioli pips, often in
buttonholes or cosages for weddings, you can make quite a few from one gladioi.!
do you know this one..........We'll sing in the sunshine, we'll laugh every day ay ay, we'll sing in the sunshine,
then be on our way !...................................................................
Chrissy, I would love to see your exotic plants and flowers , please!

Celebrate good times com on! theres a party going on around here.... it's a celebration!.......celebrate come on! ha ha ha!
"welcome to the celebration, its jubilation ....its car- na- val"
Oh dear! Gotta go check the news....
Oh that is terrible! Is this the link that you are talking about?
http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/asiapcf/08/09/tahiti.crash.reut/index.html
Please keep all of their families in your prayers!
I really feel for this tragedy...I have been there, flown in that kind (maybe that one!) kind of plane...it is very sad.
Chrissy - so sweet, thanks....wish I could give all of them hugs. The people of Moorea are the most loving people I have ever met. Visitors to their island are treated like one would treat visitors to one's home. Warm and friendly....I still have contacts there. I'm sure they are taking this very hard.
Terriculture - I'm sorry we sort of took over your thread with sad news....thank you for the kind thoughts, they are now in the air and joining with all the other nice thoughts speeding on their way to give comfort some wonderful people....
Your wreath is beautiful....just like all your other photos. Enjoy your lovely tropical island!
