help??

This is growing on the new growth of a large pyracantha. Can anyone tell me what it
is....and how to make it go away?

Looks like mealy bugs.

These two sites have info on getting rid of them without resorting to harsh chemicals. You can also use pesticides that say they kill mealy bugs.

I think Bettydee is correct on the diagnosis. I had a horrible infestation last year and I finally got rid of them by spraying with a mix of alcohol and water with a squirt of soap in it. It's worked better than anything I've ever tried. I saw a few early this year on my Black & Blue salvias and sprayed once and had no more problems from them so far.

This solution was recommended to me by Josephine (Frostweed).
